Phantom Brave On PSP Costs Less Than Your Average PSP Title

By Ishaan . January 25, 2011 . 2:03pm

Phantom Brave is being published yet again, this time on the PSP. You probably aren’t too concerned if you’ve already played the game on the PlayStation 2 or Wii, but just in case you plan on picking it up, you’ll be happy to know that Phantom Brave on PSP is a bit of a budget-priced game at $19.99 — a nice treat for latecomers.

Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle is based on the Wii version of the game, Phantom Brave: We Meet Again. System tweaks and added content from the Wii title are all present and accounted for. Additionally, the game also contains new cameos from Nippon Ichi characters such as the Hero Prinny.

Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle is planned for release in March in North America. Europe will get the game, too, but only as a PlayStation Network download title.

  • Woah, at that price even i would get it, even if i already have the ps2 ver.

  • doubletaco

Once for $50 on PS2 is enough for me, thanks.

    • It has some bonus content though…, i think o.o

      • Darkrise

        Oh yeah it will.

  • Dude this game is such a bargain! Day 1 Baby, day 1! It would be so awesome if the NISA store offered some bonus for preordering or getting it! That reminds me…I need to get through ZHP first! I wanna get to Phantom Brave because the character reminds me of my favorite Almaz von Almadine Adamant…they look strikingly similar.

  • cmurph666

Sometimes, it pays to be late.

    • Yeah, I noticed that in this generation it seems that us day 1 buyers are always faced with having to make a choice of rebuying the same game at a later date…just look at all of the game of the year editions, silver, platinum, gold, international, final, directors editions released in this day and age, lol. Or just budget releases on other systems.

  • shion16

    yay hero prinny!!
He dont explote when you throw it right?

    • Well… technically… he shouldn’t xD

  • But I’m already getting God(s) Eater Burst that month…

    • lol, dude what?! March has so many phenomenal titles that you cant just get one. There is Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel, Dragon Age II, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Pokemon Black & White, Dungeon Seige III, Tomb Raider Trilogy, Naruto Shippuden Kizuna Drive, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed, and Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy, and last but not least the powerful Nintendo 3DS! Just look at this impressive list, how can you be content with just God(s) Eater Burst!?

      • zetto13

dude! you missed Yakuza 4! but yea, March has a great list of games.

  • $20 is a nice price for this, but I wonder about the collector’s edition. The game was listed on Amazon for a few days for $49.99, and I’ve heard that GameStop had a listing up for some sort of collector’s edition at the same price for a day or so before it was taken down.

    • Dude, Collector’s Edition, in America?! Sign me up! That would be awesome, I wonder just what it would contain.

  • Darkrise

I guess nows the time to pick up Phantom brave since I skipped out on the wii ver.

  • Phlo

Hooray for being indecisive about buying things.

  • Damn you, Atlus (again).

Just take my money already and the money I will make in the future.

    • Zero_Destiny

Atlus? Isn’t this an NISA title? Or is that a joke I’m not getting?

      • t______t

        I messed up.

        • Zero_Destiny

          It happens to everyone lol

        • Ladius

You have still 998 lives, don’t worry.

  • Pichi

Will buy again for the added storyline stuff. Nice price, hope it sells well.

  • Missed out on the PS2 and Wii versions both. Getting to have the greatest version yet (ie most content) for $20? Oh yes! :D

  • I have the Wii version, but I’ve held-off on doing the Another Marona chapters purely for the PSP port– I have the game pre-ordered already, and it will tide me over until the 3DS’s release, since I kinda want to play Pokemon White for the first time on it.

It just being $20 is what makes this all the sweeter, really. I love the portable ports of NIS games. They just make them all the more fun and involving, to me.

  • puchinri

The Wii version is $20 now for a new copy at Gamestop too. At least, it’s listed as such on their site. But having a portable version is nice.

  • ZomaNeko

I got it on the PS2, loved it, though I missed out on some items that I really wanted, which I then decided that I would have to replay this game someday. I was really close to buying it on the wii, but something stopped me and I ended up waiting and I’m really quite glad I did since this is for a system I prefer as well even more content!

  • I payed $20 new for my PS2 copy years ago so I’m not really losing out, but good for more people getting a chance to play this game.

  • PrinceHeir

actually i my local store still sells the old version new and sealed for $19.99

i want to buy it but there’s just too many games i want to play ^^

  • NetscapePizza

Wishing it was Makai Kingdom instead, really loved that.

Just couldn’t get into Phantom Brave, the limited move system was too frustrating.

  • JustaGenericUser

Smart of NISA not to make people pay full price on this.

I still would have preferred NIS Japan to make a Makai Kingdom port-remake instead, though.

  • Not touched the Wii Version so why not. Plus if the going gets tough I can always just enable cheats on my PSP :D

  • Ladius

I didn’t plan to buy it since I already have the PS2 and Wii version, but 19$ is a small price to support my beloved NiSA :P

  • OverlordZetta

    That’s great!

Now where is my Makai Kindgom port and/or sequel.
