We’ve reported on Devil May Cry 4 Refrain before, but in case you missed it, here’s a recap: Refrain is an iPhone port of Devil May Cry 4, originally developed for Docomo mobile phones in Japan.

Capcom say Refrain features 10 stages and 8 boss battles. It features two modes of control, Normal and Simple. If you’re curious to try it, the game is presently discounted on iTunes at $1.99. For the moment, Refrain only features Nero’s half of the Devil May Cry 4 story.

Refrain isn’t the only Devil May Cry game on phones either. For a look at previous DMC games for mobile phones, you can check out this older post.

  • Who is asking for this? Looks like what you would get if you ported the game to N64

    • I think CAPCOM is thinking, “You don’t like the new DmC? Then have this!”

I wouldn’t buy it personally simply because of the touch screen controls, but that aside, the graphics look rather poor compared to other iPhone titles. Not an especially enhanced port perhaps?

I guess they could be targetting the wider user base of older OpenGL ES 1.1-only iPhones/iPods, but the big money seems to follow the newer hardware from what I’ve seen.

I don’t get what people are saying the graphics are bad. They look pretty good to me for what source they’re on. I wouldn’t buy it because I don’t have an iphone, I don’t plan on getting one, and I dislike digital downloads, but if this was on the DS or PSP with the same or better(considering PSP graphics,) and I didn’t own DMC4 or a PS360, then I’d get it.

See that’s the thing. The newer iPhones have substantially more graphical power than the PSP. Not saying it’s a bad game, it could be great, but it’s like releasing a game with PS2 visuals on the PS3. Just looks out of place.

      Its a port so ..

Well if you look at the Dead Space iPhone game that looks much better

  • Wow, and they couldn’t make a DMC for the Wii?
