Shadows of the Damned Ventures Out Of Hell June 7th

Information on Grasshopper Manufacture’s next game, Shadows of the Damned, has been scarce, but the game actually isn’t far from being released. At a press conference at the Game Developers Conference that Siliconera attended a little while ago, the game was confirmed for a June 7th release.

Shadows of the Damned stars Garcia, a motorcycle-riding demon hunter that’s out to save his lost love. You can find a debut trailer of the game here, and screenshots here. Electronic Arts are publishing the game under their “EA Partners” label.

  • Wow June, and thats right at the start of Electronics Entertainment Expo. I guess with it releasing, it wont waste any time during ERTS press conference. Anyway, I have no clue about the gameplay, so I guess I will cehck it out to see if I wanna day 1 it baby!

Oh wow, is that so, I didn’t even think of that. That could either be really good (Try it at the booth, available out the door!) or bad (overshadowed by all the other hype and new stuff) for the game.

    • From vids, it definitely looks like Resident Evil gameplay.

    • Any word on a demo, or did I just miss it?

      • Don’t EA usually make demos for their stuff? I’m really straining to think of a recent EA title that didn’t have one. Dragon Age: Origins is the only one I can think of, off the top of my head.

        • It should get a demo. The only current game theyve released that didnt get one was The Sims 3 for consoles, and NFS: Hot Pursuit had a 2 week limited demo.

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Isn’t EA scheduling their Partners games a little bit close together? I’m not sure DMD June 7th followed by Alice a week after on the 14th is good for either game in terms of exposure or potential audience overlap.

  • You don’t even have to show me a single shot of gameplay. All you have to say is Mikami, Suda 51, and Yamaoka and it’s a first day purchase for me.

    • MisterDandylion

I second this! :) This combination of talents is perfect for this game.

The music, the gameplay and…. ARRRRRGGGGG I can’t wait for this game! :D

      • Honestly, I think if all of them purposely tried to make the worst game they possibly could, it’d still be better than 75% of the stuff out there.

        • MisterDandylion

          You’re right.

I consider this game an experiment , I mean, this guys are 3 mad geniuses and this game is their personal playground.

I cannot say much about the story, it sound a bit over-the-top…. which is awesome :D

  • PrinceHeir

    i can’t wait for this :D

there’s also an announcement about a completely new game by Grasshopper Manufacturer:

i kinda wish Shadows of the Damned played and looked like Killer 7 :

still with both Mikami and Yamaoka on this project, this is just tooo godly O_O

    • I think the gameplay Killer 7 gave us should stay with Killer 7 ^_^

  • GOOD GOD, what is wrong with those monsters?

  • Whoomp

Earlier than I though. I am really not psyched about this game, at all, but with the cast of acclaimed creators involved I MUST have it eventually.

  • capristrider

Looks really good and looking forward to pick this up, I have an action-packed 2011, so many great titles coming out this year, unfortunately I have such a back log of titles of triple AAA titles to play through though, oh well, never mind, the gamer in me will never die…

  • I’m excited. I’m not always crazy about the gameplay in Grasshopper games but I’m always excited to see what they do next.

  • June 7th? I’ll be there! #OhYeah
