BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Headed To Europe, 3DS Version Has 3D

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II is headed to the PSP and Nintendo 3DS in Japan this spring, and it appears a European release won’t be too far behind. Zen United and PQube are publishing both versions of the game sometime this year.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II has a new Abyss Mode where you fight your way to the bottom of a dungeon called “Kagutsuchi.” Defeating enemies in the Abyss Mode allows you to strengthen your character and acquire and unlock items to purchase in the item shop. Continuum Shift II also increases the number of stories in the game from 17 to 19, with the two new original scenarios being penned by producer, Toshimichi Mori.

Zen United also confirm that the Nintendo 3DS version of the game will support 3D visuals, which is something Arc System Works have neglected to mention so far.

ASW don’t really like 3D so of course they wont mention it. It’s 2D graphics

    • Not necessarily true. Battle Fantasia and Guilty Gear 2 had 3D graphics. Regarding 3D effects… I have no idea where you got that

      • Code

Plus all the sprites in BB are animated off 3D models early on, cowcowcow just likes to troll >w<; But yeah I have a feeling like 3D could potentially work out well with this, just because the backgrounds already have a really nice layer of depth to them. But still seriously 2D is where it's at zwz~!

Without blazblue, i wouldn’t even bother to get up in the morning. Blazblue ftmfw…

  • If this game had some 2d side scroller mode were you beat up enemies and level up I’d probably buy it. Fighters always bore me after a week of so. besides smash bros of course.

    • I agree, I would like a side scroll story mode or something like that myself(I LOVE Side scroll beat ’em ups, still play Ikki Tousen on the psp, lol), would be damn awesome with all the moves and animations. :D

      • I got bored of Xross Impact. Sure it was fun the first few times, but unlocking all the costumes is a pain. Want a Guilty Gear side scroller? Look no further than Guilty Gear Judgement

        • I’m a mighty sucker for the Ikki Tousen universe and as there aren’t much other games of it, I have to settle with Xross Impact. :P
But hell yes, it is a brutal horrible never ending pain… >-<
I already own it, but true Judgement is a funny side scroller, maybe there will be a BlazBlue side scroller someday too, maybe when there are enough characters and the plot turns out to make less and less sense, while the action changes to get better and better. xD

    • So were you the one person who wanted what Tekken 6 gave us for campaign mode?

  • Tom_Phoenix

That Ragna person looks like a Sanger Zonvolt wannabe.

    • He is, a more mainstream badass(instead of the super badass mech samurai one) if you like to think that, and his voice actor is the same as Bullet’s. :P

      • Tom_Phoenix

So the voice actor of one Sanger wannabe is providing the voice of another Sanger wannabe? What a splendid turn of events! :P

  • Reitsumi

Please, this time I don’t want a ugly cover

  • Lovely, a European release, perfect for me! An enhanced Abyss mode and two extra story modes? Brilliant!

  • MisterDandylion

You know… I never been fan of playing fighting games on my PSP ( I just go berserk especially when I start getting the hang of it, just mindless boton smashing :C)

Anyway, I might as well try this game ( Question, please: So this is basically Continuun Shift I but with all the characters and some updates right??)

Hasama and Makoto AND Bang’s BANGkai FTW! :)

    • Sal

Yup, Continuum Shift II is simply Continuum Shift I with all the DLC and extra content.

  • ‘you fight your way to the bottom of a dungeon called “Kagutsuchi.”’

Kagutsuchi is the city in which the game is set, so yeah, makes sense.
