Tales Of Xillia Characters Have Specific Support Moves

By Spencer . March 18, 2011 . 3:08pm

supportIn addition to attacks and team based resonance artes, each characters in Tales of Xillia also has their signature support moves. Milla can bind enemies, which puts them in position for a pincer attack.

Jute’s specific support skill sounds invaluable. He can restore fallen characters on the battlefield. When someone is incapacitated Jute can run over and revive them.

Famitsu also has screenshots of Elise Rutas, the doll wielding character shown earlier this week. At twelve years old, Elise is the youngest member of the group. Even though she is a young girl, Elise can use advanced spirit magic techniques.

  • Jute looks awesome as always, standing so refined and in definitely one of the best outfits in the series, so cool! I love how he helps those in need, what a great skill!

  • I like how much more deeper they’ve made this game’s battle system. These support moves are a great new mechanic for a terrific looking game.

  • Zero_Destiny

Support moves sound like a good idea I hope Jute’s move doesn’t kill the game by making it too easy but then again maybe the monsters have been buffed up now and we’ll need it. :)

  • Wasn’t Jute working in a military hospital? Makes sense that he could resurrect people.

It’d be funny if he ran over to them and shouted “CLEAR!” before he does.

I’m suddenly expecting a Bones moment now. That would be magical.

  • This feels like a game that focuses on survival instincts like Resonance of Fate or Persona 3, especially with Jute’s support move. Now all we need are boss kills taunts.

“HAHAHAHAHA! Laughter really IS the best medicine! HAHAHAHAHA!”

    “Medic! Medic! Medic! HAHAHAHAHAHA!”

    • Dimentionalist

If laughter is medicine then Tidus OD’d.

      • Better that, Kefka.

        • No, see Kefka is just one of those people who takes medication recreationaly and obviously has a problem.

  • IceRomancer

I love the idea of unique abilities! Anything that makes the characters more diverse and original is Alrite by me! I’am excite :)

  • I think that this game will come out around the date of Tales Of Festival 2011 and I don’t know when is Tales Of Festival 2011.

  • puchinri

I’m really looking forward to the game. There are little bits that are off-putting, but the characters and battle news are looking nicer each time.
(And just curious, why is his name spelled Jute here?)

  • Guest

Everything seems cool except for the obligatory 12 yr old character. Sick of those cliche types in these games.

    • Caligula

Same. I don’t get why there always has to be some obnoxious preteen in almost every Tales game. It gets old really fast.

    • HarryHodd

      Jaded much?

  • The revival thing reminds me of Left 4 Dead for some reason. xD You can never really die, as long as Jute is there to pick you up!

  • irzbos

I just hope enuff people buy tales of graces for namco to deem it worthwhile to bring this one over, cuz to be honest…this is the one everyone seems more eager to get.

    • Everyone please pre-order Tales of Graces f as soon as you can!!

      • As soon as we can get a date for it, I’ll start hyping it up as much as possible.

        • Let’s hope its released this year… -.-

          • Should be… If they release it by next year or the n-th year, the hype would’ve died unless they do an awareness campaign.

        • Pesmerga00

          I know. Me too.

It was all “Hey look TOGf for North America” then nothing. They could at least give us an estimate. Or you know, anything?

    • HarryHodd

      I’m buying two copies.

  • PrinceHeir

    looking awesome :D

    release a gameplay video :P

  • Can’t wait to see some videos of this game

    • Get it on JP PSN man. I’ve got something like an Arte exhibition trailer from there :D

  • Roses4Aria

This is looking better and better to me every time I see new info about it! Want. This. So. Bad.

  • HarryHodd

I wonder what skill Elise will have? Maybe her doll will act as a magic barrier for other players or something.
