You may have seen gameplay videos of Persona 2: Innocent Sin before. Maybe you played it yourself! This video, posted by 4gamer, covers the PSP version with text detailing all of the tweaks Atlus made to the game.

The emotion system during demon negotiation, cut-in animations, the new world map, and climax theater are all covered in this eight minute video.

Naozumi Kariyazaki, the teacher from the "Charisma Classroom" scenario, is seen at the tail end. Check out this post for more details on the new quest.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin makes its debut in Japan on April 14. (That’s this Thursday!)

  • wait is that the arranged battle music :( i was hoping for some singing

    • Not sure if it is I’m not dissappointed
since it is quite badass to be honest

    • It wasnt bad… but yeah, it didnt had the “boom” the first game had when the battles started with that j-pop xD but im sure it annoyed some people

      • MisterDandylion

        Interesting observation, WildArms. :)

The truth is: J-Pop sells o.O. And as much as I miss “A Lone Prayer” (putting aside what some snobby reviewers said -___-), P2’s music it’s still remarkable just because it’s sole purpose is to relax the gamer’s mind. :)

Persona 2 Tsumi was and still is all about the storyline :)

After all….. Persona 2 is part of “The Goddess Reincarnation Tales” ;)

  • DDanny

Liking the new features, but oh my, I wonder if they’ll finally change the damn Velvet Room music in P5….

  • wow, this game SHINES in its classic graphic.
There you go, graphics sure isn’t everything ;D

    • UnlimitedRevolver

I’m not one to care only about graphics in a game, but I prefer P3P’s graphics. The graphics in this game are somewhat dark, depressing and odd… reminds me of Shadowrun.

    • UnlimitedRevolver

I’m not one to really care about graphics if the game has good game play, but I prefer P3P’s graphics. This game’s graphics are a bit too dark and odd, (which is understandable when you look at the time the original game was made), for me and kind of reminds me of Shadowrun.

  • “Persona 2: Innocent Sin Officially Announced For U.S. Release” – this must be next Persona related news. Please Atlus.

  • Xeahnort

I think is time for Igor to hire another singer for Velvet Room.

    On topic:

I hope someone bring P2 to EU, the PSone version never got released in Pal territories. On the other hand, I´m glad PSP is Region free

    • He kept her locked in a room in a tiny room in persona 3, and on the limo’s trunk in persona 4, it’s to late to let her go without…. “Taking her to the port”

  • Angeru_Lito

Wait what!? they all go to the Velvet room?, my knowlage of Persona just got shattered , now I really want to play this US release is inevitable I have no worries

    • whitefox

Clearly you don’t know much about Persona :D

Persona 3 and 4 were really the big changers for the series and brought in the tradition of having the protagonist only being able to do fusion in the velvet room and the newly invented wildcard trait where that one person can switch Personas.

      To cut it short….

In Persona and, Persona 2: Innocent Sin / Eternal Punishment your party can also go into the velvet room with you and also change Personas. I should also tell you there are no social links, social links replaced the demon negotiating / auctioning system from the first two games.

You can have a good idea of it if you played SMT: Devil Survivor

      • Angeru_Lito

Oh yeah I know the games were pretty different and the “Shadows” is the replacement for the old demons of SMT and so on, but the whole “oh you also see this door? come in here and meet this guy Igor” its shocking to me

  • I hope it gets localized T.T, i cant wait to see how the MC with the worst fate of the persona games ends D:

And lol at the velvet room.

  • Zero_Destiny

Coolness. I love how it looks. Can’t wait for it to come to the west. :)

  • Wait, I don’t get it. What’s wrong with the Velvet Room? ಠ_ಠ I don’t mind the singing.

    • Zero_Destiny

Well I’ve only played P3 but in that game only the main can go to the velvet room. And in FES it makes it clear that it’s a big deal to be able to go there and you have to be special. I think that’s what confusing some people. Personally I don’t think it’s that big of a problem to have your whole party there.

      • Ah, well I guess it’s also because everyone can change their persona’s in this game.

        But it also sounds like people don’t like the music. ;__;

        • Zero_Destiny

I like it, Nice jam really. ^_^ Everyone can change their PERSONA in this. That’s news to me. I thought only the mains in P3 and P4 were Wild Cards. Now I’m excited for this even more. :)

          • Not sure how/if P2 and P3/4 are connected (that is, if they take place in the same world even), but in P1 and 2, ability to use Persona was related to having played the “Persona game.”

  • *hoping Atlus is as amazing as I think they are, and I hope they’ll localize it*

  • So THERE WAS somebody who play the piano and sing in the Velvet room… no wonder the music never stops….
