Dragon Quest VI And Solatorobo Have A Release Date With The DS In Europe

Nintendo of Europe just announced a bunch of release dates for various games, and among them are Dragon Quest VI and Solatorobo. While Nintendo are publishing the former themselves, they’re going to be handling marketing and sales for the latter.

Dragon Quest VI will make it out the gate first on May 20th. Solatorobo: Red the Hunter will follow a little over a month later on July 1st.

Last year, Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, hinted that one of the ways to keep the Nintendo DS relevant would be to release games in territories that haven’t received them yet. Following that tease, we’ve seen Inazuma Eleven, Dragon Quest VI and Solatorobo in Europe so far.

I suppose there’s also the possibility of Professor Layton and the Specter’s Flute making it out sometime this year. What else can you think of that Nintendo could have a hand in?

  • Prof. Layton should be a must.

Also wouldn’t hurt to give North America Last Window…

I want Last Window, Solatorobo, and Inazuma Eleven in NA please

    • I second this. But, I’m glad the DS is region-free.

    • PrinceHeir

yes The Last Window please :D

  • Yay, Dragon Quest for everyone! I would really like to see Solatorobo here in NA, though.

  • Maybe…

Maybe NoA is localizing Tales of Innocence? I mean, NoE is localizing Solatorobo, and it just got trademarked there, and Tales of Innocence just got trademarked in NA… They’re both Namco published in Japan… Gee, I hope…

  • Hey, as long as the English-speaking world gets more in-house games like Solatorobo, more Tales, while going easy on Dragonball would make things great for Namco Bandai.

I’d love to finally get Last Window…I thought Hotel Dusk didn’t do that bad here, Nintendo even gave it a reprint under the touch generation. So I’m really really confused why this hasn’t been given to us North Americans.

Solatorobo would be really nice too, although that’s more of an issue of Namco. Still if we could get Innocence, I would suck it up and scrap together some money for Solatorobo and import it.

Layton seems like a good bet since the sequel is a 3DS game and you can’t just release the sequel in a story heavy game without releasing the prequel, although with NoA lately, you never know….

I’m also hoping we somehow get FE12. I’m really shocked that we haven’t gotten it yet. FE seems like it has a decent following. I mean I can understand (even if I am bitterly resentful of it) why ASH and Soma Bringer aren’t going to come here, but Fire Emblem is already a recognized brand. :/
