tri-Ace’s F2P Vita Game Judas Code To Shut Down Later This Summer

Star Ocean developers tri-Ace recently got bought out by mobile company Nepro Japan, and we’re already seeing some changes to the company, as they announced that their free-to-play PlayStation Vita title, Judas Code, will shut down later this month.

Judas Code is a hybrid action shooting title that has a card-battle multiplayer mode, along with a story that takes place in the midst of World War III, where a giant pillar called “Longinus” appeared, and began to erode Earth after causing irreversable damage.

While the game’s single player is done in third-person shooter fashion, its card game multiplayer mode features 15-man 8v8 showdowns, where players can use cards acquired throughout various missions in the single player campaign.

Judas Code launched service on August 21st of last year, and will end on July 2, 2015. “Due to the difficulty of maintaining a service that can satisfy customers, we hereby decided on this conclusion,” tri-Ace wrote on the official website.

While the game is still available to play, they will end account registration starting on March 26, along with its sale of micro-transaction currency on April 2nd. Judas Code’s service will officially end on July 2nd, at 3pm Japan time.
