Before we get to the world building system, here’s one of the characters traveling with Meruru. Kaena Swaya is a 14 year old maid and one of Meruru’s childhood friends.
In battle, Kaena can support the party with her songs. Her Song of Blessing temporarily raises the levels of everyone in the group. When she’s not buffing your team she can create and swing a giant rubber hammer.
Rufus Falken is another key character. This steward of the kingdom doesn’t search for alchemy ingredients with Meruru, he acts as a tutor of sorts and gives you quests.
As a supporter of Meruru’s land revitalization, Rufus awards for completing quests like alchemizing food to feed hungry soldiers with cultivation points which you can use to rebuild the Kingdom of Earls. This system is a key component of the game. Those points increase your kingdom rank, which can bump up the population. Your kingdom rank extends the world map and you can spend those hard earned points to construct new buildings.
