You Piece Together The Story In Ragnarok For PSP By Playing Multiple Perspectives

By Spencer . April 25, 2011 . 9:32am

Ragnarok: The Imperial Princess of Light and Dark takes players into the world of Ragnarok reimagined as a strategy RPG. GungHo Games added another twist, players see the storyline in pieces. Using the A.I.Z. (that stands for alternate if zapping) system you can switch perspectives and play a different route.

Bit by bit, you put the true story together by playing different episodes with various viewpoints. Apollosoft, a studio formed by ex-Flight Plan staff, developed the strategic battle system in Ragnarok: The Imperial Princess of Light and Dark.

Did you notice any extra characters? Torene, Cynthia, Adelaide, and Yuri, four previously revealed characters, are up there along with a "mysterious girl" (that’s her name as of now) in a blue dress and Baphomet.

Ragnarok: The Imperial Princess of Light and Dark comes out this fall in Japan.

the 2D artwork looks nice. The 3D artwork….does not

I agree. Maybe it’s for the DS and everyone has been misinformed it’s for the PSP, because the graphics look pretty poor.

    • doomspeller10

It’s a strategy RPG after all. Ragnarok has never been about awesome graphics anyway, it’s more about anime and old-school nostalgia (that’s why I don’t play Lineage II or WoW).

Yeah well….the 2D sprites for Ragnorok DS look way better so moot point…

I agree with you. The 2D graphics of Ragnarok Violet (for IOS/Android) are better than the 3D models of the game.

But the artwork of this game is simply awesome.

In one of those screenshots, the Monk is performing Asura Strike.

That move is my digs, man.

The 2D artwork feels very familiar, though I can’t quite put my finger on it. Hmm..
