Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 gives players two rows of characters in battle. Nepgear is in front, but see the bubble linked to her portrait? That’s Compa linked to her through what Dengeki PlayStation explains is a cup link.
The lily system lets players tie two characters – one in front and one in the rear. Only the character in the front row does attacking; the character in the back row has a support role. In total, players can have up to eight characters in one battle. In addition to Nepgear, Uni, Rom, and Ram, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 adds returning company mascots including Compa, IF, 5pb, Gust, and NISA.
New to Neptunia Mk-2 is how each console nation has their own religion. Historie, the goddess from the previous game, is the founder of the sect on Planeptune. Dengeki mentions Historie, despite her childlike appearance, is a former goddess who used to be able to create life.
Mina Nishizawa is the leader of the Lowee. She handles her duties with ease and is quite reliable, but said to have a frightening if she gets mad. Chika Hakozaki’s family has served the goddess for generations. Following in her sister’s footsteps, Chika is the leader on Leanbox. Kei Jinguji is the leader on Lastation. She values work over everything else, which makes her have a bland personality. Kei despise people that break promises.
You’ll meet these characters on August 18 when Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 comes out on PlayStation 3.
