Just In Case It Wasn’t Clear Before, Terror Of The Stratus Is An Action Game

Nude Maker may be best known for their portable space opera Infinite Space, but their next project is not another role playing game. Terror of the Stratus from Konami is an action game with two distinct modes.

As seen in Famitsu, defensive mode plays like a 3D action game with a side view. The goal here is to search for weak points before fighting a colossal enemy. You jump in with up to the fight with three party members, each character has their own weapons and special attacks. Terror of the Stratus allows players to switch characters in this mode.

After you send a weakness report to your commanding officer, you can move on to extermination mode where you’re locked in a battle with an outer space invaders. Players get a mech called an Arabaki to pilot, but you cannot defeat this enemy with regular attacks. Using the intelligence gathered earlier, players must formulate a strategy and exploit the mammoth monster’s weak points.

Terror of the Stratus is slated for release sometime this year in Japan. Konami have not announced the game for North America at this time.

Finally and looking good (graphics looks nice). Both modes sound interesting. Too bad it will most likely not come outside of Japan through so looks like a nice import.
