The King Of Fighters ’95 Comes To PSN With Online Play

By Spencer . July 14, 2011 . 1:28am

snk3SNK Playmore has a Virtual Console of sorts on PlayStation Network. Their NeoGeo Station titles are ports with modern features like online play and save states.

The King of Fighters ’95 just joined the lineup and is available on the PlayStation Store in Japan. You can grab the online enabled PS3 version for 900 yen ($11) or the PSP re-release, which supports ad-hoc brawls for 700 yen ($9). Baseball Stars 2 is also available for the same price.

Neither game has been announced for North America, but our NeoGeo Station could use an update. SNK released a wave of NeoGeo games in December and aside from some late PSP versions they haven’t touched it.

I JUST bought this at a thrift store for $5 wow

This would be way cooler if the Neo Geo Station hasn’t previously shown to have online play that’s pretty substandard.

Congrats Sony, you’re always doing the right things. I love KOF 95, that certainly brings me back good memories.

add in KOF XI too as well as Mark of the Wolves and i’ll buy all them in a heart beat.

i still don’t get why SNK is charging us for the PSP version. why not allow us to transfar this game as well??

      • Guest

Because the PSN version has the netcode and other such things making it non transferable

still i think Samurai Shodown 1 in PSN doesn’t have online yet they sell it separately. then again i only know PS1 games are compatible to both PS3 and PSP(soon to be Vita) not sure if PSN games can also be played in the PSP(maybe Vita??)

Cool!!!. 95 is definitely (with 94, 98, 2000 and 02) my favorite of the franchise.:p

Yay ’95! KOF ’95 – ’98 were the best years for KOF imo. Can’t wait for ’96 – ’98 to be available!
