Game Arts Pilot A New Silpheed Title To Android

By Ishaan . August 7, 2011 . 3:29pm

Square Enix released a spiritual successor of sorts to Silpheed in the form of Project Sylpheed on the Xbox 360, but Gung Ho and Game Arts just published a new game as part of the Silpheed series for Android. You can grab Silpheed Alternative: Menace from Beyond the Stars on Android for $2.99. Here’s a trailer:

Silpheed Alternative begins with a civilian interplanetary liner being attacked by a fleet of unknown fighters. You can gain more powerful equipment throughout the course of the game, and missions range from protection of allied ships to destroying enemy flags.

  • Games like this should be released for the 3DS or PSP.

    • I agree. I mean what if Square put The World Ends with-

Im not gonna give them any ideas.

Can’t find it on the market. Even the QR code didn’t work. Uhm.

      • malek86

Nevermind, if I can’t find it on the market proper, it probably means my phone is not supported.

I wish GameArts is working on a new Grandia, the third one wasn’t the best even though the battle system was a blast, Comon Squenix D8 !!!

  • pfffffffffffffff this is why i need an android tablet

  • punkchobit

Does it use the standard dpad/ok buttons?

  • kashiwaba

Playing the game right now on my Nexus s (Its not on the supported phones list but the game working well so far) its a nice game but still the touch controls makes it not suit able for a long playtime if this was for PSP or 3DS it would be way better but I cant complain since it cost $3 only.

Does this game run on tablets?  Or is it just a phone application only?

I’d rather not buy it and then have it use only half my screen.

    • Here’s a compatibility list:

(Note that @kashiwaba says below that he’s able to play on an unsupported phone)

      • MT

I understand that it can run on “unsupported” phones.  My worry is tablets.  The compatibility list is nothing but phones…

That’s why I’m asking about how it would look on a tablet.

  • I hope this would become compatible to the Samsung Intercept, since it’s not listed on the compatibility list. :s
