Malicious Developer Alvion Twitter Teases News

By Spencer . August 7, 2011 . 11:03pm

imageIt’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything from Alvion developer of the Japan-only PlayStation Network game Malicious. The company’s Twitter account teased that news is coming. It’s on the tip of their tongue, but for unspecified reasons fans will have to wait until the middle of this month to find out what the tease is about.

What’s interesting is they added the hashtag #Malicious to these tweets. Perhaps, it’s something related to the game like new downloadable content or a sequel? In addition to Malicious, Alvion also developed Poupeegirl DS and its sequel for the Nintendo DS. Both games are based on the dress up avatar of the same name and are (as you’d probably expect!) quite different from Malicious.

How bout a U.S. release? no? Yes?

    • PrinceHeir

      hopefully ^^

May your hopes be a reality…

        • PrinceHeir

          awesine bews :)

now i can play this along with El Shadai :D

    • For true believers.

What little hope we have to see a Japan indie game in U.S. is Rockin Android.

      • mikanko

This isn’t really “indie” enough to be something Rockin Android would pick up.  Their other titles are mostly doujinsoft on PC which they’ve helped port over to PS3 and released on PC as well.  While Alvion is a small developer there’s a pretty huge difference between them(professional developers) and a doujin circle(something made by people not expecting to make a living off their work).

Someone like Xseed, Aksys or another publisher that leans towards niche titles is the best chance the game has of seeing a release outside Japan.

    • They actually replied to one of their fans on twitter that they’re still preparing an english version. @doomrider posted the link ^_^

I’ve been thinking about this game recently. What a coincidence. I hope someone decides to bring over here in the US :)

This bit of news is quite… delicious! Hooo, ho ho ho! Ahh ha ha ha.. haaa….

Yeah, I’ll be in the corner if you need me.

  • Literally any news that isn’t ‘We’ve decided not to make games anymore’ is incredible. Anyone who has played Malicious knows just how exciting these developers are.

  • US Release? D: i’ve seen Gameplay of it and it looks amazing

    • MrRobbyM

I just discovered the game recently too. It’s almost everything I ever wanted in a game.

  • mikanko

As cool as it’d be to see a US release, the game really doesn’t lose much from not having a localization.  It’s a good game, the only downside to importing is really the disproportionate yen to dollar ratio you’ll be shelling out for a Japanese PSN ticket. :/

I would love to see a sequel or a US release, either way this announcement of an announcement is something to look forward to.

  • heartless141

it’s one of those games that i’m glad i moved to japan for it :D

From Alvion’s twitter: “Although I still cannot make the details public, surely we’re preparing the English version.”

That’s a confirmation if I ever saw one.

    • DanteJones

      That’s awesome!

    • MrRobbyM

You just made my day. Thank you.

  • Malicious is the best PSN game I’ve ever saw, and the only PSN game I couldn’t get. -_-
I hope for a US release soon.

    • Belenger

It’s as hard as going to play asia, purchase a quite expensive PSN card, make a JP psn account and download.

Game is completely playable without knowing a word of japanese, think of it as a classic game when the tutorial didnt come at every 3 secs explaining how to move using the stick ¬_¬.

      • I really thought of doing that many times, but what IF it got localized later?
        That’s my only concern.

  • TheShwa

I bought this game in hopes that it would get over here. It was money well spent. :D

  • I  hope it’s something about an international release, because this is one PSN title I’d download in a heartbeat if it were available here! *crossing fingers*
