Trine 2 Will Cost Less Than The Original Trine

Trine 2 still doesn’t have a release date, but Frozenbyte CEO, Lauri Hyvärinen, has been addressing other fan questions about the game’s release, such as price and the various localized versions.

Answering a fan who asked what the approximate price of the game would be, Hyvärinen replied: “Less than at what price Trine 1 launched.” The original Trine cost $40 on PC at launch. When the PlayStation Network version released a few months later, it cost $20.

Hyvärinen has also been discussing localized versions of the game for Europe. Trine 2 will contain voiceovers in “at least largest European languages” — this includes French, Italian, German and Spanish — in addition to English. Other languages may not include localized voiceovers, but will contain translated text at the very least. Russia, for example, will see a version of the game, day and date with other territories.

As far as voiceover work is concerned, the English actors from the original Trine will reprise their roles in Trine 2. Frozenbyte say they will try to have Trine’s French, Italian, German and Spanish actors return for the second game as well.
