First Three Devil May Cry Games Rated By ESRB For Xbox 360 And PlayStation 3

Back in July, Capcom held a Devil May Cry 10th anniversary art contest. The winning piece of art, they said, would be featured in a new game. That game is possibly the rumoured Devil May Cry HD collection.

 

G4TV report that the ESRB has updated the ratings of Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening to include Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as systems the games are present on.

      DMC3SE came to PC but it’s not getting the collection.

      Just like Konami they’re porting it to both consoles.  Sony came up with the idea of porting upscaled PS2 games to the PS3 as HD Classics, but it doesn’t mean that other developers need to port only to the PS3.  They have no obligation to Sony.  360 had Xbox originals, but they weren’t upscaled ports.

      But seriously.  If you’re a developer and you’re going to have to take the effort of porting a game over to a console that’s not its native console, then why not port it also to the only other HD console(aside from PC) to get more sales. 

      The entire HD rereleases are just cash ins regardless.  As soon as the first God of War HD collection came out I called them that.  Aside from the DMC Collection and Ico/SotC Collection, I won’t be purchasing any of the other currently announced HD Collections as I already have the games on PS2.  Depending how amazing the games are are whether I’ll buy it twice or not, and DMC and SotC are worth it in my opinion.

        Actually, plenty of Xbox originals are upscaled. The Xbox originals versions play identically to putting the original disc in your console, and most Xbox games are upscaled on Xbox 360.

        actually games like Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath is coming to PS3 which was an xbox exclusive game back then(which i wanted to play on my PS2 as soon as i saw the game)

        anyways just as you said, anyone can port their games on HD. is just that Sony seem to have started that trend(which is good, but not all are too well; Silent Hill HD Collection for example, still giving it a shot though)

    I hope this news is true, can’t wait playing DMC (1) HD remastered on my HD TV. And please give use Custom control for DMC (1), the game needs it.

    I guess I’m the only person in the world that likes 2. I had no problem playing the game over and over until I maxed everything out.

      DMC 2 was, for better or worse, my first DMC. I enjoyed it well enough.

      I then moved to DMC 1 and enjoyed it quite a lot, then I moved to DMC 3 and I enjoyed it as well. I also went for DMC3 special and… I do have to say, I don’t understand why DMC3 is being voted on a few top 10s as being one of the hardest games (or hardest PS2 games) in existence.

      It was tough but not that tough…

        Lol, talking about DMC3, I had the best beginner’s luck ever. I was fighting Virgil on the final stage on Normal and perfected him on my first try. I seem to have psychic predictions when he wanted to warp and whatnot and slashed him like he was tofu.

        Of course, things didn’t go really well after that initial moment of glory.

    Not sure if I want yet.  I already have the anniversary collection fully functioning on my PS2.  Graphics and achievements are not a purchase for me, I need more info before I say it’s a buy.

      Well, consider something else. If you dislike the new DmC and enjoy the old on. Don’t purchase DmC but purchase the DMC Trilogy.

      That way, as many people have noted, you’ll be adding to the huge gap in sales differences and show Capcom that “Hey, your new Dante? Yeah, he sucks.”

    Hoping they might be separate releases as downloadables. 

    I’ll get it regardless.  Will just find it irksome if DMC2 achievements/trophies are lumped in with the other two games.  c_c;

      If it’s done anything like all previous PS3 HD Collections, all three games would have separate trophy lists, with a platinum for each game.

    Both 3D PS2 CV games
    Port of Wii’s Castlevania Judgement
    Port of Castlevania the Arcade (1st person rail whip game) with Move & Kinect support

    I would’ve paid full price just for DMC 3! Having the entire series (+4) in HD is great for consistency!

        I have games, it’s just…I’m really bad at getting Trophies. Seriously, I’m only a Level 4. And most of those Trophies came from Tekken 6 and The Sims 3.

        But hey, I’m always up for buying more games! :D

          Lol that was funny Wayne! Hey FinalArcadia if you don’t mind me a giving you a tip about getting trophies, I’d be happy to help. I was in the same boat you were, a low level PSN gamer. ( No disrespect intended)

          They provide great walkthrough guides or if that’s not your lingo, they provide a trophy list so you will know how to get the hidden trophies. It really helps especially when your low on time, full time student, work, etc.

          I bought a PS3 in 2010 had six games or so and then had to sell them for rent money. In February 2011 I got me another PS3 bought a bunch of games and  found out about that site. It has helped me tons fold. I’m currently on lvl 12 74% with like 60 games on my list. I buy great cheap games first, from a price range of $20-35$ and buy certain games on day one. I’ve been so busy with games, school, and work I barelly make time to comment on this site lol.

          Just wanted to help a fellow Siliconera member. You can PM me if you want so you can add me as a friend; since I have Tekken 6 as well. Always looking for more competition :p.

    In all seriousness, I have all three games, and I’ll keep an eye out for this. I’d like for the fourth game to also be there, which is the only one I don’t have, but that’s life I guess.

    Now, this is what i have been waiting for months and months even since I saw that horrible reboot of the DMC series! this may sound sad but I bought MVC3 for Dante because I’ve never been a fan of fighting games; I was never good at them lol. After that I went on a video game purchasing frenzy for fighting games.

    DMC was one of the first games I played on PS2 and I mean actually play at my house or a relative not a friends house. Also, guess who bought the game and had the chunky PS2….my grandma lol. She picked up at the pawn shop along with Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot. Ever since then I got hooked to the DMC series, the anime, and the manga.

    Now Vergil is coming to UMVC3 lol and with this HD collection…I can die a happy man! The Ico/SoTC, MGS, and ZOE HD collection are all gonna be day one purchases for me as well. Along with that 3D Tv from Sony, I currently have a 15″ composite cable slim Tv so it’s a total upgrade no matter what view you take on it! Finally, I can see HD and 3D for video games and movies….puts a tear to my eye.

    Now all I need is is a Kingdom Hearts HD collection and I can relive all the best PS2 memories all over again. This and ZOE collection are already must buys.

    Oddly enough I’m even looking forward to DMC2  I guess after the train wreck that is NT fake Dante anything will look good.

    Hm, I was going to make this a long comment, but quick question. If I liked God Hand and it’s combat system (especially how easy it was to grasp it and complex it could get. Cancelling and juggles and whatnot) is DMC easy to grasp too? (All I know about it is the jump cancelling. I’ve only really played a little bit of 3 and 4)
