Zelda Hyrule Historia Encyclopedia To Detail The History Of Hyrule

Zelda’s 25th anniversary celebration is still in full swing. In Japan, Nintendo recently revealed a Hyrule Historia artbook-cum-encyclopedia for The Legend of Zelda series. Shogakukan will be publishing it on December 21st.

Chapter 1 of the Hyrule Historia will go into the story of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and the history of Hyrule. chapter 2 covers the evolution of Hyrule throughout the entire series. Finally, chapter 3 consists of concept art from each Zelda game.

In addition to this, also included is a 32-page Skyward Sword manga. Hyrule Historia will cost 3,255 yen when it releases in Japan. A translated version for overseas release hasn’t been announced thus far.

Whoah. I have many, many friends who would absolutely love this book. As Mihen mentioned, if nothing else it could possibly wrap up speculation on continuity between the games. Here’s to hoping for a localization of some sort!

…I’d heard about a manga adaptation of Skyward Sword through one of the artists I follow on DeviantART…but reading this, it seems like it’s just gonna be a oneshot chapter rather than several volumes?
That would really disappoint me if that turned out to be the case. I’d expected at least a two volume adaptation like they did with the OOT manga =

This books sounds so lovely. I really do hope Udon or Nintendo releases it in English. I can’t understand Japanese so half the book would be lost on me and as much as I love art, I love reading about lore even more.
