Pokémon Artist Is Working On Harvest Moon Creator’s Game "Project Happiness"

By Spencer . June 7, 2012 . 2:09am

image Toybox CEO Yasuhiro Wada assembled an all-star team for his new game Project Happiness. Nobuo Uematsu is composing music for the title and Pokémon illustrator Atsuko Nishida designed the game’s characters and the Sprite.

"Depending on how you play Project Happiness, the Sprite’s story changes," Wada said when we spoke with him about Project Happiness. The Sprite also acts as an in game navigator, but it won’t evolve or anything like that.

Project Happiness will have other animals to interact with, but the Sprite is the only fantasy-like creature in the upcoming game.

Natsume plans on releasing Project Happiness in early 2013 and while we don’t know the specific platforms, Project Happiness will be multiplatform.

D’aaaw, that creature is cute. :3

  • <..> “Project Happiness”

Now this is a pair of words that go well together. Much more so than that other… [Ahem].

  • Ace.Of Hearts♥

I’m so happy!! aawws that weird creature is  so cute!!hmms if Project Happiness has some romance in it then I will 150% get it (if I can) from what I’ve seen it looks super cute!

  • puchinri

The sprite is really cute~. I’m quite intrigued by how much freedom the game gives you and what routes are open to you.

  • Syltique

This keeps sounding better and better.  I’m really looking forward to it.

  • That explains why I got that Pokemon feeling when I saw the monster…

  • It won’t evolve makes me rather sad because I was hoping that it would evolve into a whole new level of cuteness.

    • [Taps on shoulder] Ahem.

    • Arrei

In the majority of cases though, don’t cute adorable mons evolve into ferocious killing machines with rows and rows of teeth?

  • SirRichard

Uematsu on music, Nishida on art and Wada on design. Oh yeah, this is looking fantastic.

  • Strain42

Glad to hear multiplatform, higher chance I’ll be able to pick this up…so what are you guys thinking? 3DS and/or Vita?

    • PoweredByHentai

That would depend on whether it has achievement/trophy support or not.  I don’t think the 3DS currently supports anything like that but I’m sure that Vita titles have a requirement for trophy support.

  • riceisnice

Now that they mention it, it does look like a pokemon.

  • boundries_san

Nobuo Uematsu? Atsuko Nishida? Yasuhiro Wada?…… This is really Project Happiness.^^

    •  This is basically the equivalent of assembling the A-Team.

      • boundries_san

Nahh The Expendables team sounds better there.^^

        •  More appropriate for it’s closer to the number of talent assembled and not all about explosions and testosterone.

  • lol That critter looks so cute. xD Reminds me very much of a Pokemon. But that’s fine.

  • Handsome Luigi ♢

    That teams sounds FAN.FUCKING.TASTIC!
I was never into Harvest Moon though, what’s the game about?

    • Arrei

Farming, ranching, expanding your land, making friends with townspeople, getting married. Like, slice of life on a farm, but with a lot more whimsy and occasionally magic. It’s really hard to explain because somehow it turned out to be a lot more addictive than it sounds.

  • I wanna be the very best
    Like no clerk ever was
    (ba dun dun dun)

To stock them is my real test
to sell them is my cause.
    (dun dun dun)

    • Gotta sell em all!

    • boundries_san

      Capitalism HO HO HO.^^
