Dokuro Trailer Shows Off Transformation And The Game’s Spooky Bosses

By Ishaan . June 14, 2012 . 8:30am

Game Arts have released a PlayStation Network demo of their next Vita game, a platformer titled Dokuro. In Dokuro, you play as a prison guard (named Dokuro) who decides to help a captured princess escape. You transform between the two by tapping the Vita’s back-touch panel. Game Arts released a trailer for the game today, showing the feature off, along with what looks like the game’s bosses:

Two more demoes for Dokuro will be available in the future. The Stage 2 demo will be released on June 21st, and Stage 3 will follow on June 28th. The full game will be released on July 5th, and will be able to use demo save data.

My god, I need this game. Loved the gameplay, the little character and the song.

This game does looks nice and fun lol.^^ But i don’t see this game here representing Vita maximum power.T_T

Hoped that other new title will be able to use its maximum capabilities.

Maybe its not MAMAMAMAXIMUN but its still looks interesting:)

Oh man, that Chef boss looks AWESOME I’m incredibly excited for this game. I hope somebody localizes it. I don’t care who.

Does anyone else think that first boss they showed with the red smiling face kinda looked like the Forever Alone guy?

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Love the art style and the premise. The Chef, the 3-headed Bird Gatekeeper, and Lady Dark bosses look interesting, too. Someone has to localize this.

Indeed this looks awesome Dokuro is doing it right lol. I hope for a US version.

  • Dokurochan

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dokuro was also chasing a fruity corpse. :P
    Pipiru piru piru pipiru piii~~~~~~!!

In all seriousness though, this game looks beautifull and I’d totally get it if I owned a Vita.

      “Pipiru piru piru pipiru piii~~~~~~~!!”
      please don’t tempt me.

      p.s. i love dokurochan

Come on, you know you want to sing along. ;P
Pipiru piru piru pipiru pi~!Pipiru piru piru pipiru pi~!

And hi-five for the Dokuro-chan love! Fun fact though, my avi isn’t actually the angel Dokuro-chan but Chrome Dokuro from Katekyo Hitman Reborn cosplaying as the angel Dokuro. I completely adore both series and both their versions of Dokuro, hence the username and avatar. ^_^

        Pipiru piru piru pipiru pi~~~~~!!!

        • xavier axol

your avi would fit perfectly in the dokurochan universe, she and dokurochan’s younger sister would get along quiet well. “^-^”

          • Dokurochan

Yeah, it’s not that hard to imagine Chrome jumping into the world of Dokuro-chan, especially because watching an angel beat an innocent teen into a bloody pulp on a daily basis isn’t really that different from watching her Boss being constantly tormented by a baby hitman, lol.

At first it was kind of depressing (what, with all the squeaky deaths), but gads, does this looks super charming!  Even if it IS another puzzle-platformer with a gimmick!

  • Chiupon

Was anyone else reminded of Madoka Magica’s witches?

    • AzuNo17

This art-style looks so much like it that I’d like to believe that this is a spin-off to Madoka Magica. So consider me hyped!

(also what is the named of this artstyle?… grunge?)

Another reason for me to work even harder towards getting a Vita. This game is so charmingly dark and well animated. The puzzles look genuinely fun as does the platforming. I really hope this gets released over here as I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I must say this looks totally like The Grief Syndrome Doujin game for Madoka. Not that there’s any problem with it. :D

  • Solomon_Kano

This looks wonderfully charming. Considering the competition, I think Gung Ho might just end up being my favorite early Vita dev.

Who is playing this?! They’re terrible! Lmfao.
