I am going to be so happy to use Ling Xiaoyu and Sakura in tag-team. I’ve been wanting to do that since I bought it.

  • cj_iwakura

Finally time to unlock that disc, eh?

    • Ty Austin

Does it really make any difference?  On disc or no, you’d still have to pay for them.  At least this way you don’t have to download a large file. =/

      • pridesin

I thought, it was free to unlock from disk.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ty-Austin/100002154794093 Ty Austin

Unfortunately, no.  Capcom allocated extra money and resources to make these characters, the charge is to make up for that cost.

          • SirTeffy

No, the charge is because Capcom thought they could get away with charging extra for content initially included and ripped out.

      • Guest

From a training for fighting tourney standpoint; you have to wait 6 months to play your ‘main’ while others have a 6 month jump start on the ones that weren’t locked away. Plus the whole ‘its free on Vita version which is less $’ …..thing..

        • Code

If your training for a tournament, you already know these characters are 6 months away, you’d never pick them as a main obviously.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ty-Austin/100002154794093 Ty Austin

The extra time really won’t make any difference. People who excel competitivly don’t need 6 months to train up a new character, they can pick someone up and body others pretty quick.  Not to mention, anyone whose worth their salt hasn’t done so (from what I can tell, it’s just people who play it casually) for 2 reasons.  1.  Hardly anyone has displayed any decent tech with these characters.  2.  Competitive people won’t risk being banned from online.  As someone who attends tournaments on a regular basis, I’m not concerned about this in the least.

As far as portable fighting games go.  So many other fighting games have released a portable version and issued new characters along with it.  Soul Calibur, Tekken and Mortal Kombat all come to mind.  Capcom also stated that if you own the PS3 version and purchase the Vita version, you get those characters free.  Something that those 3 other games I mentioned, have not done before.

Ahh good, I knew someone would just have to bring up the usual complaints again. Figures it would be you. :)

      • cj_iwakura

And I knew someone was bound to defend Capcom’s sorry excuse for business practices, figures it would be you.

        • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

I’m just pointing out that you seem to have nothing better to do than be a troll. Everyone else in this comment thread appears to be talking about the game itself. You’re the only one that just can’t let it go, and brought it up yet again, even though it serves no purpose.

It isn’t just me who feels this way either. The other two mods feel like you’re overly disruptive, too. Knock it off, please, or we’ll have to prevent you from posting further comments on the site.

          • cj_iwakura

Sorry you have a personal axe to grind. I contribute to all kinds of threads at this site, if you look at anything SMT oriented. I’m allowed to state my opinions, and I always do so in a polite manner without attacking anyone personally.

You don’t seem capable of doing that. So if that’s the kind of community you want to run, go ahead and do it. I can find less restrictive ones to contribute to.

And there are many other comments at this site fed up with how Capcom handles DLC, if you care to notice. In this very thread no less.

          • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

I don’t care what you do on your site or others; you’re disruptive on ours and can’t seem to lay off the unproductive, smart-alecky one-liners that are in no way conducive to proper discussion.

There’s no “personal axe to grind” aside from the fact that we’re tired of having to watch you all the time.

Again, if you’re unable to understand the rules of this site (find them here: http://bit.ly/LIfktr), it would probably be best that you stop posting here.

          • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

I don’t know you as much as Ishaan seems to, so I’m not going to draw conclusions in the dark here. All I’m going to say is: I don’t like exploitative business practices either, but bringing up the same topic again and again would make my points cheap/redundant. Also, I’m pretty sure virtually everyone who had something to say about the on-disc DLC debacle had already said what they had in mind. I can understand if this is a new development of the situation, but it’s not; this is something everybody knew was coming because Capcom themselves announced much earlier. So… I won’t say the complaints are pointless, but they’re quite overdue at this point.

          • zero254

Think about WHY he gets to complain about it.

  • Hating Ass Nigga

I cant wait to use these “NEW CHARACTERS”.

  • Jason A

Be cool if they done something unexpected and gave away the locked DLC for free. lol

    • British_Otaku

Planning to hide content for half a year and lying can be excused by letting us play it late as they planned?

    • pressstart

Impossible. They have a contract with Sony. With the Vita version including the DLC characters and unlocks them for your PS3 as well, giving the DLC for free would make the Vita version’s appeal drop like a brick.

Two boxers who’s supers are Dempsey Rolls? That’s just ridiculous.

  • Apache_Chief

Yes comment section, it is on disc dlc. I GET IT. Let’s find something better to complain about now.

      • Luna Kazemaru

         ^this guy knows whats up.

  • Jezzy

Something looks off about Alisa’s brows…

  • Guest

Really bad marketing decisions Capcom made with this game…

  • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

    Still no Draggy?

    • Code

      Nahh, Dragunov never made the cut sadly, unless they add an additional set of characters (seems unlikely), probably won’t see him in SFxT. Maybe he’ll be in TxSF instead o3o;

  • konsama

Not to sound bad an all, but that art looks awful IMO, especially Alisa.

  • Sardorim

    Well at least there’s Sakura…

  • Exkaiser

    Dudley? Awww yeah.

    GUTTER-TRASH.

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Sakura, Dudley, and Alisa for the win!

  • M’iau M’iaut

One day there will be a SF thread without DLC ‘concerns’ being ‘expressed’.

    This isn’t that day.

    • Luna Kazemaru

Its not even about the DLC anymore with me its just how bad the game is so you will not hear me saying anything about it anymore.

That first picture of Lars looks so AWESOME.

  • revenent hell

If I had a vita I would have just bought the Vita version……….On my own personal moral code I cant hack the game since I think its…not fair? IDK its just not worth the effort to me but on the other hand I refuse to pay for “DLC” thats not Digital Download Content and is Disc Locked Content so I shall remain not playing these charecters, and the game for that matter the ast bug I encounterd made me quite a while ago its just not worth the frustration patched or not I dont play games to get pissed I play to enjoy once a game makes me mad, wich I have to say has realy never happend befor,I decided tiz best to get rid of it and move on.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

Well, what the article doesn’t say is that the characters ARE added for free to the PS3 version if you also get the Vita version. Of course, you’d need a Vita signed into your PSN for that to work, obviously, but it’s what I’m doing. I”m just going to pick up the Vita version so I won’t have to pay the $20.

      • revenent hell

Im aware of that and id still not rather shell out another 40$ on the Vita version. I dont rent or buy games second hand but even if I did I wouldnt trade anything for the game further ive had my fill

  • Nemesis_Dawn

Can’t wait to play as these. Will be picking up the Vita version, pretty much just to unlock them in the PS3 version I have already. It’d be nice to play it on the go, even if I do prefer fighting games on a nice HDTV.

  • M’iau M’iaut

And by continuing to brag and share your mad skills with us, you have earned a warning. Leave your hack discussions elsewhere.

  • Nemesis_Dawn

It is a sad day when pirates can be this open about it and be applauded for it.

  • XiaomuArisu

This song is just for you.

  • Nemesis_Dawn

As I said above about pirates…

  • M’iau M’iaut

You may also leave the pirate talks elsewhere. Warned as well.

  • Nemesis_Dawn

And if you break into somebody’s house and steal their tv, you wouldn’t have to pay a thing for it either. Doesn’t make you any less scummy.
