Hitman Absolution Lets You Create Assassination Challenges For Your Friends

IO Interactive are adding a new mode to Hitman Absolution. Titled “Contracts,” the mode lets you create custom hit challenges within the game. These challenges can these be shared with your friends.

You create a challenge by choosing a level, choosing targets, weapons, and setting rules for completing the contract, based on time, style and witnesses. Your completion stats for Contracts missions will be compared with those of your friends online, and Hitman Absolution will come with several pre-set Contracts stages designed by the development team.

Upon successfully completing a contract, you’re rewarded in contract dollars, with the amount depending upon how well you performed. Contract dollars can then be spent on unlocking more weapons, disguises, upgrades, and techniques to create even more elaborate Contracts challenges.

“Contracts was inspired by our loyal and extremely creative fans, many of whom are still finding new and amazing ways of taking out targets in previous Hitman games,” said Christian Elverdam, Hitman Absolution’s gameplay director. “Contracts mode finally delivers a way for Hitman players to fully realize both their creativity and competitive nature.”

“Whether they’re fighting to shave off a split second from their time or combining elements and timing events to create unprecedented accidental deaths, gamers can now challenge and inspire each another with an endless variety of user-generated contracts.”

Hitman Absolution will be released on November 20th for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

As someone who’s been replaying Blood Money like crazy these last couple of days, I’m excited for this feature. It would definitely give me a few good ideas as to how to make things harder for me!

If this feature were in Blood Money, I’d probably do something extremely silly in A New Life like make you assassinate one, but not both, of the guards standing at the front door (have fun trying to get no witnesses), the jogger (because everyone hates the jogger), and the clown (because I tried to sedate the clown and get his costume the first time I played the game).
