How Resident Evil 6′s Skill System Works

Resident Evil 6 has a skill system and when the game begins you can equip one set of skills. Players can get up to eight skill sets as they play through the game. Chris Redfield and the other characters can switch skill sets in the middle of a level, but zombies and J’avo won’t stand still while you decide which skills you want.

You can purchase more skills using skill points. Once you buy a skill it’s unlocked for everyone, so Jake and Leon can use "zombie killer" even if they’re on the other side of the world. Some of the skills shown in the screenshots are: Fire Arm, Defense, Critical Rate, Concentrate, Steady Aim, Penetration, J’avo Killer, Battle Attack, Hand Gun Master, and Magnum Master. Most of these skills can be leveled up.

Resident Evil 6 supports split-screen co-op. It’s kind of like Lost Planet 2 style with tiny windows for both players.

    Nice to have splitscreen!
    Back in the old times we always had split but you youngsters just want this so called online.

      Well whatever, this game can only improve after RE5.

    I can’t handle Capcom anymore with their splitscreen.  I mean at least put something in the blank areas like maybe an inventory?  An option to move all your HUD into the black screen instead?  I mean there’s so much potential to fill up those black boxes yet every game they don’t do anything. It’d be pretty cool.

       i like to bash capcom for how they manage things lately, but the way split screen looks is like most split-screen games in my ps3 look like, the usual symbol or logo in the blank space in some games if anything distracts me, if anything bothers me is the skill system a rpg element in what was supposed to have a capaign to please the classic survival horror fans.

       actually I remember playing RE 5 (before gold edition came out) on xbox 360. and the whole screen was filled. (half and half screen for each I mean)

      only until I replayed the game on the ps3 (RE5 gold edition this time) that the split screen is the same way as it is above. (but other than that I actually can’t recall any other instances wherein the split screen was like this (where there are black spaces not being used)

      I’m not defending it, but I thought the point was that the game took so much processing power that they physically can not render anything in the space outside the two player windows without a considerable drop in performance.

        They all looks the same .. and speaking about “large Updates” , Not gonna happen but the size of the Update himself will fool you from the on-Disc Contents .. This is Capcom policy my friend !

    Adds a layer of thought to what layout is best for what situation, though odds are a good general purpose accuracy-boost & handgun mastery set-up would work for most.

    They’re putting a lot of work behind this one, here’s hoping it turns out well!

    It was like that in RE5 too…and people don’t understand that if they don’t do it like that, it completely changes the FOV, this is the only way to keep it intact.

    If there is an unblockable X Buster, day 1 for me. Sorry, Megaman Fan here. The game looks better by the minute, seems to take the best elements of Resident Evil 4 and some of the action of 5.

    … Skeptic to this. Stuff like “Handgun Master” and “Steady Aim” seems like they don’t really SOLVE or add anything to the game. It sounds like they’ve added a shaky sight to your character, or just decided handguns could have arbitrary power-ups, instead of doing stuff like adding secret weapons or let the player aim straight and hit whatever they’re aiming at right from the start. Can’t say those kinda changes have me very enthusiastic.
