Fighter, Gunner And Techer Classes Coming To Phantasy Star Online 2

By Ishaan . August 28, 2012 . 11:20am

New character classes and weapons are coming to Phantasy Star Online 2 in September, the Phantasy Star Fan Blog reports. The new classes include: Fighter, Gunner, and Techer.

Fighters can be unlocked after you reach level 30 in Hunter, and excel in lightweight weaponry. They can use Double Sabers, Twin Draggers, Knuckles and Gunslash.

Gunners can be unlocked after you reach level 30 in Ranger, and have a skill called Chain Trigger that provides a damage boost. They can use Twin Machine Guns and Gunslash.

Finally, Techers are unlocked once you reach level 30 in Force. Techers use dark, light and wind technics, and are capable of using Wands and Gunslash. They’re intended to be on the frontlines during battle.

All three classes will be available in mid-September. You can read more about the various weapons they can use at the Phantasy Star Fan Blog.

Is it likely that the Vita version shall be localized as well?

    • Curan_Altea

Since the Vita version requires an internet connection because it gets everything from the servers I would think so. Shouldn’t be much work, and it might help seeing as their last Phantasy Star game came out for psp.

Was PSP2:Infinity ever localized, though? Because I don’t remember hearing about it, and that was the one that got consistent updates in JP, much like a pure MMO would/should have. Plus, it took until PSP2 before they even had the WiFi multi-mode option. PSP1 just had ad-hoc.

I can’t wait for this game to come over to US/EU.

Okay, what exactly is a “Gunslash”?  I saw this when reading about Phantasy Star 0 the other day and don’t recall if they were even in Phantasy Star Portable 2.

        I see… I’ll stick with Hunter then.

  • Luna Kazemaru

I love how hunters get more  weapons >.> Also the English community on ship 2 is still a joke lol.

    • Curan_Altea

I just play on ship one. I don’t see a reason to group up with people just because they speak my language.

      • Luna Kazemaru

I’m on ship 10 man lol I can play with JP players just fine

        • s07195

    Just 4 more months! ^_^

  • Erica Lovelace

My brain keeps wanting to add Forte- to the front of all three of them. Damn PSU indoctrination. Sounds like they’ll be pretty fun, though.

Haven’t updated the game since last month… Hopefully it won’t take that long to update all at once.
