Harvest Moon: A New Beginning will have a special 15th Anniversary Edition when it releases in North America later this year. Available exclusively from Natsume’s online store, the special edition of the game will come with this 12” cow plushie:

Meanwhile, if you pre-order the game at GameStop, you get this yak plushie.

Harvest Moon: A New Beginning introduces new features to the series, such as being able to choose your character’s gender and customize their looks, as well as setting your ranch up from scratch. The game will be released on November 6th, and you can find screenshots here.

Pre-orders for the game on the Natsume store will kick off on September 24th.

  • one of the only reasons im buying a 3ds is for this game! excite!

    • Isaac Serious

  • Actually, it does have a launch date now: November 6th, 2012. CeeCee announced it on the Natsume forum – http://www.natsume.com/community/showthread.php?t=2400

    • Ah, we just got the PR from Natsume, too. Updated!

  • Revorse

That cow looks pretty awesome. I’d buy the game just for the cow.

That plushie is staring at my soul and it’s whispering “You need me.”

  • O_O

    i..want that cow!

  • Anna Scruton

I need to choose between a Cow or a Yak plushie. This is too hard!

  • Chihiro

Sooo the yak is free with pre-order for the normal game, but the cow costs $10 more for the anniversary edition? or is there something else that makes the Anniversary edition special? :P

    • The cow is physically bigger, I believe.

Hopefully this game will run more smoothly than The Tale of Two Towns did on the 3DS. I hear the 3DS version was pretty buggy with that game (then again, it’s a port of a game for the DS, whereas A New Beginning was made for the 3ds, so I’d imagine things will work out.)

Hopefully, I can eventually preorder from Amazon. Gamestop ended with a sour note the last time I got something in the mail from them. I’ll have to check if the Natsume store ships to APO addresses.
