… What kind of game is this? RPG lol?

    • sherimae1324

      its a Survival-Action-Creepy-Dungeon-Crawling-Multiplayer-RPG ^_^

    Silent Hills Diablo.

  • Just look at all the why.

  • Solomon_Kano

WayForward is excellent, but it still baffles me that Konami thought this was a good idea for Silent Hill’s first showing on Vita. Or any system, for that matter.

maybe some other time… they will make a game for the VITA with a REAL silent hill game ^_^

        I sure hope so.

Playing the demo, you’d be surprised at how well a horror-styled dungeon crawler can work, at least in theory. Combat feels kind of floaty and all the menus are touch-based, which just feels awkward at times. Interesting ideas, though, like the “Forsaken Rooms” where you get pulled into traumatic memories (though I’m not sure how a little girl crying “go away” has anything to do with a teenage clerk called Derek).

Not completely horrible or anything bad, but it feels like the Silent Hill name got tacked on to give it a chance (or the Vita a bit of rep). Not sure what the massive delay was over, either, apart from a graphical touch-up it seems to be mostly the same game we’ve seen for a while now.

EDIT: “They look like monsters to you?” Oooh you guys

Presenting, the bulbous big red clown nose on Konami’s current sad farce of a face.

RIP Konami of old, our dignified friend, you will never be forgotten.

Have you played the demo? If not, I suggest keeping such reactions to a minimum, seeing as your only experience with the game is severe butt-hurt. Still, your reaction and many others at least show that there still is a vested interest in the series. So i’ll take you’re complaining with a grain of salt. Seriously, though, i wanted to hate this, but the demo showed me a world of diablo like play, with resource management to survive, and Silent Hill dressings. In all, it was pretty neat. I certainly hope that they can keep it up for the duration of the game, as the demo was only 4 levels long.

    what is this…? I don’t even…

… is just a spinoff every thing will go back to normal, is just a spinoff every thing will go back to normal, is just a spinoff every thing will go back to normal, is just a spinoff every thing will go back to normal, is just a spinoff every thing will go back to normal… (look at Silent Hill games from the PS2 and PSX era, look at the ones that are out this gen) who em I trying to kidd, Silent Hill is dead since western game developer left psichological horror out for gore and RE4 like combat.

    • Lester Paredes

I felt the same way until i tried the demo. What i found was an interesting take of a Diablo style RPG with more of an emphasis on resource management, with silent hill dressings. Is it the next best thing since 2? no, but from what the demo shows, it’s got potential.

It’s like the Gauntlet and Silent Hill series had a forbidden romantic encounter.

Looks like a fun game with Silent Hill trappings. Not traditional SH, but I wasn’t expecting it to be, and the games aren’t going to all go down this path. I’ll get it when I can.

    • Juan Andrés Valencia

Same here. I also love the fact that your weapons can break.

  • neetyneety

This doesn’t look very appealing, Silent Hill name or no.

  • I still stand by my verdict to ACTUALLY see the game myself then I’ll decide is it good or bad.

For those of you who are butthurt tht this isn’t a traditional SH, get over it. They r prob. trying to get more ppl to play it and explore a new side for the franchise. We will see whether will it work out or not….

  • Freud_Hater

Uninterested. Downpour was already pretty bad, I won’t waste my very hard-earned money on this… thing.

  • I’m glad that i have Silent Hill 1 on PS1 and the rest 2,3,4 on my PC :)

I played the recently released demo. Going in, I wanted to hate it. But I found myself enjoying what was there. It’s like a survival horror Diablo, but not really horrific, mostly creepy. And the story seems interesting. The little I dabbled in during the demo was enough to pique my curiosity.
