Move Over Siri, Neptune Can Act As Your iOS Personal Assistant

By Spencer . October 14, 2012 . 1:30pm

imageNeed a personal assistant? Forget Siri and hire Neptune. Compile Heart’s Hyperdimension Neptunia app has a clock, alarm, and schedule functions. Select clock and Neptune will tell you the time. She says different things depending on the time of day, date, and even has special greetings for holidays. Neptune can also act as an alarm clock to wake you up and remind you about meetings when you select schedule.

The Hyperdimension Neptunia app uses Live 2D, an engine that makes 2D characters come to life. The app is free, but if you purchase additional content it becomes a communication game. Using the app builds your friendship level and changes what Neptune says to you. You can also unlock Noire and a camera feature to take pictures with the girls from Gamindustri.

You can download the app from iTunes for free, but please note it’s only in Japanese. NIS America is working on an English version for release at a later date.

    So Bloody Kawaii. . .

I want to have that app.

  • Godmars

just what every grown man needs: the voice of a young Asian girl coming from their phone with submissive tones in public.

    • StarWarudo

      Best comment ever.

  • Saculogir

Yay! I always wanted to have Noire order me around and tell me what to do :D
This is a dream come true!

    • Kai2591

ohoho I like your style ;)

  • Pythia Brixham

So… Much… Want… Someone PLEASE tell me that they are also porting the Android version, because I do not have an iPhone…

    • Alexander Kim

You can actually download the Japanese trial .apk if you scour the internet for it a little, and once you’ve manually installed it onto your phone, it’ll let you purchase full functionality via your Google account.

      • Pythia Brixham

Yeah, but it’s gonna be in Japanese, and I can only read hiragana and understand… Fifty or so Japanese words.

  • Nameless App 1989

Will it work on an iPod touch?

EDIT: Never mind, it said it will.

Silly people posting “news” even though the app’s been out for days. The android version has been out for 6 or so weeks now but that’s irrelevant seeing as how this post is for those with iOS.
If the thing’s actually anything like the android ver there’s no clock function that mentions the current time. The holiday greetings available for purchase are for summer based holidays etc and are rather pointless unless one messes with clock settings or wait a year.

Noire is a paid feature, you need to buy the full version of either char for the camera function to work on that char,
There’s no such thing as a communication game, you either poke on the char, shake your device or poke at the background. Keep messing around daily and you’ll gain affection, ignore either char too long and you’ll lose some. Paid version has more lines etc.

For those of you people that want the android ver, just get it at google play at
Use a store region changer if necessary.

Seems compile heart released an autumn voice pack recently’ ish.

What he said.  I downloaded the Android version back when Siliconera covered it ages ago, and you only get one character who says like 3 lines.  It was buggy as hell too when I tried it.

      • How exactly was the bugginess? Wrong time? Voice not playing?

  • I’d love to have Nep Nep or Noire waking me up for school in the morning!~

  • I’m not an iPhone kind of guy, but all my iBrethren and iSistren should hop on this.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

I swear I would buy an iPhone if they localized this App and got Melissa Fahn to do the voice work.

    • Buy an expensive phone just for one app. Not sure how I feel about that.

      • You get people buying consoles just for one game, so someone chaining himself to a two-year contract with a phone and a mobile plan for a single program is just as plausible.

        • FitzpatrickPhillips

Obviously that wouldn’t be the ONLY reason – thats stupid, but that would push my “meh” reaction towards it to “need one now”. I need to upgrade anyway.

  • I never wanted an iPhone until just now.

  • Awesome

  • I just got an iphone…and this happens…its a SIGN!!!!!

  • Repede91

Siri has a distinct lack of personality anyway. Neptune however is quite an energetic individual.

  • SolidusSnake

I neeeeeed this for my Android devices @[email protected]

  • This looks adorable! I’d totally want to wake up to Nep Nep! The Live 2D engine sounds totally relevant to my interests too…

  • XypherCode

    Android? :(

  • This was released on Android first in Japan and then iOS. Absurd we’re only getting the iOS version.

    • Jack Frazee

Says who? It’s entirely possible that we will only get the iOS version, but nothing in this article claims that NISA are not also working on the Android version.

  • I think Iffy would have been more fitting.
Could listen to her sarcasm all day~

  • Kai2591

NIS America is working on an English version?

    That’s it. I’m getting an iPhone 5.
iOS devices get the best apps…dammit T_T

    • 324234

      It’s already on Android..

      • Kai2591

oh right. lol. forgot about it. Siliconera already covered that one right? Unfortunately its not showing in my android market…damn region restrictions. Well hopefully the localized one will be available for android and in my region as well.

      • Guest

I know. but then I already got an iPhone 5 lol ;)

  • I LOVE YOU NISA! >_<

  • Leon_Tekashi

I wonder what are the chances of Idea Factory/Compile Heart will put in the other characters. I would love some Blanc. =x

     I would’t mind Nep-chan waking me up every morning, though i rather have Iris Heart do it. ^_^;

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

     English version…………….*yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

  • Bigabu Beaze
  • VERY nice. I’d totally buy this — both versions — if I had an iOS device.

  • Darkrise

Hm, might be some sick fetish of mine developing here but I’d much rather have Iris heart waking me up.

  • Arc†icNinja21

    I’d much rather have Vert…

  • Demeanor

Give me Uni and then we’ll talk :P  Cosplayer Uni, please :D
For now I’m fine with my Music Girl Hatsune Miku XD

  • Renzouri

This might be my console-seller for me. Or in this case, my reason for getting an iOS device.

  • Jesse Thompson

God Bless you NISA.  I love you with all my heart! <3
