Heroes Vs Looks Like Dragon Ball Z Budokai, But Has Ultraman & Gundam Instead

Spike Chunsoft, the developer behind the Dragon Ball fighting games, is working on a new mashup fighting game with characters from Ultraman, Gundam, and Kamen Rider. The gameplay reminds me of the Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast series, perhaps Spike Chunsoft is using the same engine? Heroes Vs has these heroes in its roster so far:

  • Ultraman Mebius
  • Ultraman Zero
  • Utraman Nexus
  • Alien Empera
  • Kaiser Belial
  • Dark Zagi
  • Kamen Rider W
  • Kamen Rider OOO
  • Kamen Rider Den-O
  • Kamen Rider Eternal
  • Dinosaur Greeed
  • Nega Den-O
  • Gundam 00
  • G Gundam
  • Turn A Gundam
  • Reborns Gundam
  • Master Gundam
  • Turn X Gundam

Namco Bandai is really pushing the Ultraman X Gundam X Masked Rider setup. Lost Heroes, a dungeon RPG with all three series, came out in September and Great Battle Fullblast, a beat ‘em up, was released in March. Heroes Vs is scheduled for February 7, 2013 in Japan.

Spike Chunsoft developed the Budokai Tenkaichi, Raging Blast, Ultimate Tenkaichi, and Tenkaichi Tag Team games. Those are very different from the Budokai games which are developed by Dimps.

Ah yeah, you’re right! I’ve played so much Raging Blast I forgot about Dimps. Thanks for the correction.

Roster could use some Kuuga and some Zeta Gundam.

    • Shuryou

Don’t forget the awesome dodgeball minigame that had these characters too.

Yeah, that one was my favorite too, but I didn’t think anyone else remembered it. Siliconera covered it a lot!

      Looks amazing.

“Namco Bandai is really pushing the Compati Hero revival.”

Fixed to make it a bit more true. This game, as well as the ones you cited, are all part of a larger anthology. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compati_Hero_Series

But what happened to the Metal Heroes? Givan, Shaider, Sharivan, Blue Hawk? Where art thou, my heavy metal friends?

I will celebrate by playing Decisive Battle on the Family Computer!

Seems more similar to Dissida Final Fantasy, but none the less, Ultraman Kaiser Belial FTW!!!!!
