Raven's Dusk Battle

Witching Hour Studios released the prelude episode for Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion as a free download on iTunes. Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion is a turn based strategy game where formations are everything. You can pair Polearm units into "Deuces" or group three Cavalry into a "Trine." Linking units together increases offensive ability at the cost of maneuverability.

Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion has a deep battle system and a grand fantasy story to soak in. If you just got an iPad or iPhone on Black Friday download Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion right here.

Anyone tried this game before? I might download it on my mom’s iPhone. :P

Yep. This game is great, if you love TBS. Give it a shot. :)

I would gladly play this game on PC, consoles or handhelds, but unfortunately I don’t have an iOS device :

This reads like an advertorial, and really should be marked as one if so. Me, I’m burned out by the deceptive article from last time that compared it to Fire Emblem.

You should consider that maybe the writer played the game, liked it and wanted to help it gain more recognition before going all out and claiming it could be an unmarked advertorial.

I know negativity is rampant on the web, and according to some people any piece of news that has some enthusiasm in it is some kind of ad in disguise or shows the author has ulterior motives, but I’m sure you understand how this kind of stance is unrealistic (and potentially offensive) when you generalize and apply it everywhere in the context of entertainment coverage.

Also, while the Fire Emblem comparison was indeed wrong if taken out of context, I’m pretty positive the article you mention simply wanted to point out that this game is a srpg and could cater to similar tastes, without saying that Ravenmark is perfectly in line with the systems you will find in Intelligent Systems’ series. True, it mentioned the rockpaperscissor similarity regarding the weapon triangle, but it mentioned right in the beginning it’s a different kind of game, and it also oultined other systems that make this title quite different from Fire Emblem games.
