That Horrifying Creature Is Soul Sacrifice’s Elf Enemy

By Sato . December 4, 2012 . 3:20pm

We’ve seen a few Soul Sacrifice monsters and their tragic back stories. Keiji Inafune’s game also has an elf, but it’s nothing like Legolas of the Woodland Realm. Soul Sacrifice’s Elf comes from the land of Dandelions…

There once existed an empty valley of nothingness without even a glimpse of life. One day, a cloud of seeds appeared out of nowhere, and a single dandelion flower was born. Every Spring, the number of dandelions multiplied, and before long, the entire field was covered in yellow flowers. Everything was going great for the dandelions, but over time, they would face a problem. No matter how much the dandelions tried to spread outside the valley, their seeds could never make it over the towering cliffs surrounding the land. Over-crowded and in despair, the dandelions were no longer able to spread their offspring as nature intended.

One day, a young girl fell into the ravine, covered in blood and mysteriously without a single scratch on her body. When she awoke, she was stunned by her surrounding and quickly realized that she was stuck in a land full of dandelions. The girl continuously tried to find a way out, but her attempts all ended in failure. She eventually came to peace with the idea of being stuck forever in the ravine; as she spent her days looking back at her life and telling herself that everything happens for a reason. She spent the rest of her life alone with the dandelions – engulfed with an inexplicable desire to have children.

  • Crevox

    So… she… had children with a dandelion?

I guess? I dunno, this one seems weaker than the previous ones.

    • Something about those dandelion must have warped her mind with their desire to have their offspring spread beyond the ravine or to have more children. It seems to be interesting, to me, we just have to wait and see by playing the game.

    • Dexward

She wants to have babies with you. Go ahead. She’s all yours.

  • Bloodios

She wants to get knocked-up so bad, she knocked out every one who approaches her… Nice…

  • neogeno

    Dandelions yo…

    They’ll get you pregnant.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

      fast and hard……

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

ummm I’ll Let Pit handle this one…. wait no Kratos might enjoy this one

  • SirRichard

Not as weighty as the other ones, this. A girl just happens to mutate into this because,,,dandelions? She looks impressive, at least.

    • Göran Isacson

Yeah I have to admit, this seems to have very little to do with the girls, and more to do with the Dandelions. Now, had this perhaps been a PARTY of wanderers which had escaped into the valley and found themselves merged into some kind of Legion-like monstrosity, THEN we could be talking.

  • Herok♞

So basically there is no way to sacrifice her without being a complete jerk everyone else pretty much deserves what they will get when defeated.

    • Syn

Looks like she might have killed someone from the “covered in blood with not a single scratch” statement.

    • Follower_of_Pram

Even the guy that just wanted to protect his town? No pity at all?

      • Herok♞

He deserves some pity but you have to admit most of the monsters are horrible people.

  • Loving the artwork! But.. (I know what I’m about to say might be stupid) I just don’t like the word “dandelions”, just the pronunciation really. Nothing against dandelions or dandelion enthusiasts! I wonder if the Japanese word for it has a better sound to it… Oh man I just typed dandelions so much just now.
Ok back on track~ Hype level rising, day one! All that good stuff.

    • Suicunesol

Tanpopo. The Japanese word for dandelion.

I think the silly sound of the dandelion name is what makes it creepy.

    • TheTimeMage

I never really thought about this until I played the Witcher but whenever Geralt would say Dandelion I hated it more and more.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Wtf… good thing I never stop to smell the flowers at the park. Shit might take over my mind and make me want to all National Geographic on some unfortunate women.

    On second thought… >.>

  • Well obviously it was someone else’s blood because she had no scratches.

  • Fango

I love all the unique designs from this game and the backstories are pretty cool.

  • This story isn’t as harsh as the others but still sad. Also I wonder about the whole “covered in blood without a scratch” scenario. This leads me to wonder and ask such questions as:

What had happened before she fell into the ravine?

Since she had no scratches on her was she someone special with some kind of mysterious power or ability?

If she is special is that the only reason why she was affected by the dandelions?

How did she fall into the ravine in the first place?

It seems the field of dandelions was alive itself, how or why is that?

Was someone else with her when this happened and is this backstory connected to another?

Just some thoughts running through my head lol. Can’t wait for Soul Sacrifice to come out next year =^_^=

  • Unlimax

Lady gaga and this thing … What’s the difference ^_^ ~

    • neocatzon

What? It’s not another creature screenshot?

  • tubers

Wutt? The writer must’ve been smoking some to think of that xD

  • “Covered in blood without a single scratch on her body”
Could be failed pregnancy or some similar such thing. That would tie into the “inexplicable desire to have children”. Only inexplicable because it’s a fable.

  • ragingmerifes

Why can’t all the elves be like Liv Tyler?

  • Emmm… I think I will take WoW and ALO elves lol.

So the girl now give birth to dandelion elves…. Err….. wut.
