Zen Pinball 2 is headed to the Wii U, Zen Studios announced today. Sometime this month, Zen Pinball 2 will be available as a free download via the Wii U eShop in both North America and Europe, with free trials for each table. Here’s a trailer:

The Wii U version of Zen Pinball 2 will support off-TV play on the Wii U GamePad. The following tables will be available at launch:

• Zen Classic Pack featuring Tesla, El Dorado, V12, Shaman

• Marvel Pinball featuring Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade and Iron Man

• Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles featuring Marvel’s The Avengers, Infinity Gauntlet, World War Hulk, Fear Itself

• Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue featuring X-Men, Thor, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight

• Individual DLC Tables: Excalibur, Earth Defense, Sorcerer’s Lair, Paranormal, Mars, Epic Quest, Plants vs. Zombies, Fantastic Four, Captain America

Zen Studios say more tables will also be released for the game via the Nintendo eShop.

Ok, I’m not sure how the method works… the game is free, but it only comes with trial tables? What are the limits for the trials?

Typically (at least how it works on 360) you grab the game itself for free. You then have to pay for each table you want unlimited play on. The trials are timed limits, so it’s just enough for you to get the feel of a table and gauge if you want it or not.

So you could also just, let’s say, only pick up the table you like most, and you’d pay little? Cool. I might pick up one.

Yep. You just buy tables you like. I like that model for pinball games.

  • Free trials for a Nintendo console? What is this, the 90s?

Zen studios never ceases to amaze!

  • i am curious if there will be some exclusive tables for this platform.

I had it in Vita and there are some great tables like PVsZ and Sorcerer’s lair
