By Ishaan . December 17, 2012 . 8:45am

A second free update is headed to Resident Evil 6 on consoles, which Capcom say is meant to address issues gleaned from fan feedback. It will make the following adjustments to the game:

Agent Hunt Mode

  • Available without having to complete a campaign
  • Selectable criteria for joining a session
  • Stage selection
  • Region selection
  • Determine whether to join a session based on campaign player’s settings such as infinite ammo or friendly fire setting

Stage selection

  • Individual stages within chapters can be accessed at any time once completed

  • QTE assist is currently part of the Amateur difficulty level, and automatically completes QTEs for the player. With this update, players can optionally activate QTE assist on any difficulty level.
  • Some sections of the game have had their difficulty adjusted to provide an improved experience

This second update will be released on January 22nd, 2013. The first update is available for free today, and you can view a list of its features here.

game of the year….. and this patch make it easier for those who find this game annoying or too hard and an extreme difficulty for those who find it too easy.

    Win Win situation here…..

A little too late? I think it’s great that they are making these changes, but do they honestly expect to even move another million after these long? I’m surprised they didn’t announce a wii u version with the PC one. Because I don’t see the game achieving their expected sales.

Trying to platinum the game and I really don’t find it as bad as people say it is…except for the Chris campaign, which is torture to play through, it is so monotonous.

Holy crap. Are most of the RE6 players kids? Does it need to be dumb down this much?

I really love what they’re doing to Agent Hunt mode but what it just really needs is a better spawn point for that mode.

I can’t help but laugh at the people praising this game. I am extremely objective in my tastes, and I don’t think I could sleep at night if I recommended this game to anyone as any more than a ‘meh’. For every single good thing in it, there are a minimum of two bad things. That leaves plenty of good moments, but they are always sandwiched between two shitty ones.
