By Spencer . December 26, 2012 . 1:30pm

imageSquare Enix announced Final Fantasy XI’s fifth expansion pack Seekers of Adoulin will be available on March 28, 2013. Seekers of Adoulin adds new jobs like the Gemonacer and the Rune Fencer plus four new areas. The content in Seekers of Adoulin is geared for high level players, so get out those jobs that are level 99.

In Japan, Square Enix will sell a Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin expansion data disk for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 2. Yeah, Sony is still printing new PS2 discs and unless Square Enix makes another Final Fantasy expansion pack it might the final PlayStation 2 game. The PS2 version won’t be available in North America, though. Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin will cost 3,980 yen ($46) on all three consoles.

Out of curiosity, are the North American servers for this (FF11) still up? I’ve heard conflicting answers on both sides.

      Yes, they are.
Edit: umm I forgot there are no regional servers in this game, it’s worldwide, there have been mergers but yeah the player base is pretty hardcore.

FFXI, is, afterall, the single GREATEST MMORPG to ever exist. Period. NOTHING can match it’s brilliance.

It was TOTALLY awesome. I wish they would focus on this but they want to do FFXIV… :/ I’d rather a huge graphical upgrade of FFXI.

I was looking forward to some news about the release.
Guess I’ll be coming home to Vana’diel, one last time. This game… haha… it’s the best Final Fantasy hands down, and I’m not being sarcastic. The haters know nothing, and are filthy casuals anyway.

    Neckbeard bump.

sucks that NA won’t be getting the PS2 version of the expansion
I have all of the ones released so far, would be nice if they would release it over here so people can get all of them

  • AnimusVox

    PS2? Wow.

  • http://twitter.com/DarrylThinks The Letter D

Long live the PS2! I think Final Fantasy XI is highly underrated.

  • Romangelo

    why don’t port it to PS3 ???

    • Syn

Now that is a very valid question, I think it would have been a great business strategy to get on the ps3, but it seems they had planned for XIV to be the next great thing on the ps3 instead of XI
