Resident Evil: Revelations Announced For Consoles And PC

By Ishaan . January 22, 2013 . 9:00am

Resident Evil: Revelations is coming to PC, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Capcom have confirmed. The game will be available at retail on May 21st in North America and May 24th in Europe. On those same dates, it will also be available as a download for PS3 and PC, with Wii U and Xbox versions to follow.

Resident Evil: Revelations was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in early 2011. The home console version will feature HD visuals, a new enemy, an extra difficulty mode, improvements to Raid Mode (such as new weapons and skill sets), as well as the ability to play as Hunk and other Resident Evil characters.

Meanwhile, the game’s single-player story stars Jill Valentine and her new partner, Parker Luciani, along with Chris Redfield and his new partner, Jessica Sherawat. Chris and Jessica set out on a mission to find the abandoned ship, Queen Zenobia, and after they go missing, Jill and Parker pursue to find them.

Like Resident Evil 6, Capcom have made the console version of Resident Evil: Revelations compatible with the service. You’ll be able to pre-register with the service starting January 24th.

Wow, those screenshots look pretty damn good. I’ll probably pick this up for Wii U or PC. Definitely one of my favorite Resident Evil games.

  • kylehyde

Is good to see that more plattforms are going to be covered. Certainly the Wii U version could be closer to the original one on the control scheme.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Everyday I’m so glad I built this PC. Oh man, so glorious

    • Masa

agree! got a gaming pc last year and haven touched my consoles since….well except for Ni No Kuni. :)

  • eilegz

i hope they add cooperative for single player mission. and all online improvements of re6 most part looks like ada first chapter which its not bad at all

    • Revorse

I was thinking this as well. I started with 5, just on a whim playing with my buddy. I think I’m kinda spoiled with Co-op in RE.

  • I was thinking of getting the 3DS version sometime next month but now that its coming to consoles I can pick up the PS3 version or Wii U version. Will also pick up PC version when it goes on sale.

  • Tylor Boreas Makimoto

My one hope about this is that this will inspire Capcom to make more RE for the 3DS.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

Not sure why, though, especially if the console versions sell a lot more, which I’d imagine they will, in the West, at least.

      • Because they can always port them over to consoles later, like they did with this title?

      • What Ishaan just replied to you.

I have a PS3, a gaming PC and a VITA… I’m a little sad that it ain’t for the VITA.. I thought it was very likely as it was a handheld game in the first place…

  • Go2hell66

and no one touched RE6 ever again…

    • I did I was able to beat Leon’s Campaign which happens to be my favorite so far. Chris’s Campaign and I’m half way done Jake’s Campaign. I’ll be honest that the driving portions were terribad. I was not very happy with the final boss of Chris’s Campaign because I had run out of ammo and I had to use my knife the rest of the way.

      • Only Leon and Ada’s campaigns were good.

    • 60hz

and it has a damn good merc mode.

    • Luna Kazemaru

pfft I’ll still be playing mercs mode bro

  • I’m excited because of Jill’s butt.
I thought it would be grand to see it on the 3DS (popping out of the screen), but I just got sore.
I’ll be happy to see it on real-life scale <3

  • Blazkn

Not interested since I’ve already finished the 3DS version, and the new content is far from impressive (seriously Capcom, ONE new enemy? Give me another Separate Ways!). And that price…

But a good option for those who didn’t play the game yet!

  • badmoogle

This is going to be my RE6.I hope it will be just as good as i’ve heard it is.

I’m glad i haven’t bought a 3DS yet just for this game,i guess good things come to those who wait.It will be great to play it with two analogue sticks (PS3).

  • Showmeyomoves

Wooo, finally a good Resident Evil game again! Oh wait, I already played it. Raid Mode is a blast, though.

I hope this does well and sends a message to Capcom about where fans want the franchise to go.

  • AlteisenX

Kind of disappointed, in a sense that the exclusivity of the game is gone, but I’m happy people get to play a really good RE title finally. I haven’t had that feeling since RE4.

  • The only reason capcom’s re-releasing this game is to cover up RE6’s sales that fell short of expectations.I am still happy about this.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

Come on, you realize that they didn’t start working on this in October. It was probably planned from the very beginning. Why would they leave a Resident Evil title on a handheld only?

    • That’s kind of a silly theory, considering that RE6 was released back in October and this game was on the Korean Ratings Board soon after. More than likely, it was always intended to be a timed exclusive, since Resident Evil games are multiplatform more often than not. That way, everyone wins. 3DS got year-long exclusivity and Capcom will get more sales out of the console ports.

  • Neophoton

Was about to buy this for 3DS, but I’d rather play it on PS3, so… works in my favor! Shame it releases in the same month as The Last of Us and Remember Me, though.

  • Tom_Phoenix

I hope they preserver the title “Revelaitons”. =P

  • Natat

Nice, definitely picking this one up for PS3. Been waiting to play a real RE for a while.

  • Pretty graphics and all but not interested since I got the 3DS game at launch and there’s really no new content or worth. Glad this amazing game will get in the hands of more gamers, though, and pleasantly surprised it’s coming to Wii U as well.

  • Nozomi

I am very, very excited. I own and beat the 3DS version and this game is definitely worth buying again.

But what if, what if Capcom ruins it!? What if they tinkle with the camera control to make it match 6 and ruin the experience!? What if they add all this unnecessary DLC!? D: I HAVE ALL THESE WORRIES.

  • EdgeKun

Crap. Now I have to choose between PC and WiiU. While the PC is going to offer a superior play experience, I’m really wanting to support companies putting solid titles on the WiiU. :C

I guess though that if this is the worst thing I have to dwell on, then we’re pretty well off for this release.

    • mark zeus lee

get the wii U ver its close to the 3DS+CPP scheme

    • mark zeus lee

get the wii U ver its close to the 3DS+CPP scheme

  • MikelAL93

While I’ll definitely pick this up for PS3 and Wii U myself, I hope that the port itself is good too.

  • SetzerGabbiani

I loved the 3DS original and the “Revelaitons” special edition (lol); it’s a damn good game. I will probably pick this up for the Wii U, but certainly not at full price. Glad they’re adding new moves as Hard Mode was great until you got to Parker and Jessica’s second stage where you had like 1 ammo clip per gun dealing with 7 or 8 hunters. There needs to be a better move for crowd control.
