DKCR on wii is glorious – Well worth the investment. Perhaps this means the series will move full time to the 3DS platform now too?

i dont want to bash the hardware, but damn some Anti Aliasing would go a long way on games like this.

    • idrawrobots

It’s amazing how well playing games in 3D gets rid of jaggies.

      • http://profiles.google.com/dnlblue Daniel blue

Or rather, how 3d helps you ignore the jaggies even though they’re still there in full force. Resident Evil Revelations adds anti-aliasing if you disable 3d, and the improvement in picture quality is _almost_ worth sacrificing 3d for. Almost!

Is this your first time looking at 3DS game screenshots? They always look like crap. It’s better to just watch this on your 3DS via the latest trailer. Looks a lot nicer on the actual screen.

      • http://www.facebook.com/stale.laastad Ståle Laastad

i never played on a 3ds, so if its a big difference, il just have to take your word for it.

  • GuyAlpha

NO MORE SHAKING TO ROLL. YES.

    • MrRobbyM

I love the game to death but THAT was annoying. That and the super slippery and floaty controls.

    • Zonic505

This is the single reason why I’m looking forward to replaying it on 3DS. Now let’s hope there’s some kind of new content added.

That’s what YOU think – the 3DS has a gyroscope!

  • Cameron Ward

the game itself lends to a lot of 3D moments

  • Göran Isacson

Curious. If I didn’t play the game on the Wii, do you think this will be a suitable replacement? I have wanted this game for a long time but never knew if it was a good idea to wait until the price got lowered or… well, this happened. Do you think I will be missing out on something if I don’t buy it for the Wii, or may I as well play it here?

    • http://www.facebook.com/sergey.kuchin.71 Sergey Kuchin

I think you should buy it on Wii, IMHO little screen of 3ds won’t represent the whole epic and smoth graphic DCCR.

    • Eric Harris

It will be a BETTER replacement. Wii version had lame forced motion controls like shaking the controller to bash the ground looking for secrets (instead of a simple down + A) and there were ALOT of secrets. So the whole level you’d be moving and stopping then shaking the #*@*# stupid controller. By THIS instead.

    • NimbusStev

Definitely buy this instead. In the Wii version, you had to shake the controller to roll/run. There are many moments that require precise timing on your rolls. Seriously, you will feel like you have a broken wrist after you play this game.

I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to waggle your remote to roll and NOT GIVE ANY ALTERNATE CONTROL OPTIONS, but let’s hope they rectify that mistake with the port.

  • Sergio Briceño

Watched the trailer. And I must say I’m impressed. It looks fantastic.

The only reason why I didn’t like the game very much the first time around was the Wii remote controls. Can’t wait to play it how it was meant to be played.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Donkey Kong Country 64 remake would have blown my mind…

  • Fango

    The original looked better…

  • SetzerGabbiani

Sooooo…since we’re porting Wii games already, Wario Land: Shake it! should get a second chance…right?

  • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Well, this is unexpected – though certainly not unwelcome. Hopefully there will be more Wii-to-3DS (or Gamecube-to-3DS) ports in the future?

  • Barrylocke89

Shockingly, I’ve still yet to pick up the original DKCR. Whether or not I aim for this version instead will depend on how much new content, if any, is added to the game.

  • Shadowman

    I can’t stop watching the trailer. O__O

  • Eric Harris

100% no doubt purchase on this one. I played just a BIT of DKCR on Wii, and I was really put off by the motion controls. (instead of a simple down + A for ground smash, you have to shake the wiimote = stupid). Now that the lame motion controls should be removed. I can finally look forward to actually playing this game.

  • $29082171

I normally don’t care about ports but since this one will remove the forced waggle of the Wii version then I approve.
