<< Last week’s software sales chart

Last week was another slow period for new videogame releases in Japan. Square Enix’s Dragon Quest VII remake for the Nintendo 3DS remained at the #1 spot, followed by Animal Crossing: New Leaf at #2.

Meanwhile, Level 5’s life-simulation RPG, Fantasy Life, continues to sell, and is now over 230,000 copies sold in Japan. Fantasy Life is the first major success for a brand new Level 5 game in quite some time.

The top-20 chart for the week was as follows:

Nice, now DQ VII needs to be King in the west too!
I’m really happy about these results for Level-5 games, they deserve the best.

  • Hidayat246

Sakurasou No Pet Kanojo perform well, love it the anime too!!!!!!

    • Yuushirayoshi

Selling just 5k+ in first week it release does’t good at all. Well some games perform worst. Don’t want gonna happen from next few weeks, all we know games sales drop every week.

      • Hidayat246

u forget this is VN game, selling 10000 is good for non-top anime game

        • Yuushirayoshi

I know it visual novel games. Not much people into it. New love plus sales 100k in first weeks.. Sakurasou is great anime btw.

          • Hidayat246

dont compared sakurasou with LP, so far i know sakurasou less sex scene compared with LP
remember siliconera not even cover news from sakurasou so i dont suprise
is great anime 100%, u must check the CD drama is great too

  • Nice to see Fantasy Life still selling. Hoping Animal Crossing does good in the west and acts as a catalyst for a Fantasy Life localization. Fantasy Life seems like more my kind of game than AC.

  • Göran Isacson

Welp, Demon Gaze and DmC seem to be losing their legs (though the latter will probably hit at least 170 K sold which… isn’t too bad-ish, I guess?) while Pokemon jumps back up, and the top 10 is ALL 3DS and one Wii title. Still, no title that really seems to be setting the chart on outright fire just yet,

    • psycho_bandaid

its kind of surprising demon gaze had legs to begin with. I say it was a good run.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

1-11 is all taken by Nintendo lol. Japan is trully embracing handheld as their main platform for gaming.^_^

  • xAtKx

I’m curious to see how the vita price drop and ps4 announcement affect its sale numbers in the coming weeks.

  • Zenthos

Knowing Level-5, DQ will definitely make its way to the west especially where these sales are going. We should expect it late-mid 2013. Get a good rpg game, remake it on a awesome portable device = profit.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Level-5??? DQ is SE property here lol.
For Fantasy Life, i am still hopingggggggggg.T_T

  • s07195

Has anyone here gotten Sakurasou? Any difference from the usual VN stuff?

  • Desukoru

I’m honestly surprised that Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone is still going (relatively) strong after two months.
