Final Fantasy V mastered the smartphone job and is changing consoles to iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch. A port of the Game Boy Advance game with new portrait illustrations will be available at the end of March.

Square Enix is promoting the port with a crossover in another iOS title, Guardian Cross. Starting on March 26, players will be able to hunt Guardians from Final Fantasy V. Superbosses Omega and Shinryu will be in the game. Odin, one of the summons, will make an appearance in Guardian Cross too.

The crossover event ends on April 15. You can get Guardian Cross as a free download for iOS now.

  • Cool Art. Gonna make a Shinryu vs. Omega little art thing now.

I guess this is what the 20th Anniversary for FF5 is getting. -_-

Would have liked GILGAMESH over Odin though. Just so we get the dimension traversing trio together for once.

    • The year is just starting, and I don’t believe only three cards are the whole event. I’ve played enough TCG phone games to know that.

I loved the designs of the Demons of the Rift, they made for a great boss rush. Melusine, Calofisteri, and Halicarnassus were my favorites, can’t wait to see the art.

    Shinryu is water?

    • Mainly referring to how it opens up the battles with Tidal Wave.

  • Hopefully you can get those on the hunting fields…because on the tournaments, it´s useless now, in fact, with all the duped cards and hacks it´s not worth it anymore.
