Scribblenauts Unmasked Takes You To The DC Comics Universe

Scribblenauts is expanding to the DC Universe this Fall. This morning, Warner Bros. announced Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure, a Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and PC game that contains characters and locales from DC Comics.

Scribblenauts Unmasked’s story puts you in the shoes of Maxwell once again, and this time you visit Gotham City, Metropolis, Atlantis and other DC Universe locales. You’ll get to interact with DC’s superheroes as well, including Batman, Superman and the rests of the Justice League, as well as face villains like the Joker and Sinestro.

New to the game is a feature called “Heroic Feats,” which are dynamically created puzzles. Scribblenauts Unmasked continuously generates original scenarios that require different solutions each time you go through them. It looks like you’ll have access to multiple versions of the same hero as well. The trailer above shows that entering “Batman” brings up several familiar iterations of the character.

The Wii U and PC versions of Scribblenauts Unmasked will come with a Super Hero Creator tool that will let you create your own superhero or villain using any item from the DC Universe, and then setting properties for how they behave. You’ll then be able to share these creations online.

“Fans of both DC Comics and Scribblenauts can really let their imaginations run wild with the Super Hero Creator in Scribblenauts Unmasked,” said Jeremiah Slaczka, C.E.O. and Creative Director of developer 5th Cell. “Players will be challenged to craft new and never-before-seen characters such as Wonder Joker or Bane Lantern and use them to solve puzzles or share them with friends.”
