Summon Night 5 comes out on Thursday and Namco Bandai wants to get more people into the Summon Night series. Right now, Summon Night and Summon Night 2 are on sale in Japan. You can get each game via PlayStation Network for just 300 yen ($3) each on PlayStation Network. That’s cheaper than most downloadable PsOne imports.

Summon Night is a strategy RPG that follows a group of high school kids that are whisked away to the fantasy-esque world of Linbaum. Summon Night 2 picks up where the game left off and starts each player with a familiar. Both games are pretty similar in style with sprite art and isometric battlefields. If you never played the Summon Night games now is a great time to get them. All you need is a Japan region PSN account and a PS3 or PSP.

    Que? oh…

    Japan PSN, nevermind…

  • Reki Honoo

Oh well… there’s hope this will get translated for north america. Was there any fan translations for the summon night games?

    • Testsubject909

Um… If my memory isn’t playing tricks with me… I think I once saw Summon Night… back on the GBA… many years back. Or was that an entirely different game… I’m pretty sure it was for GBA.

      • Reki Honoo

Yeah but those were the spinoff games. I meant the ps2 versions or the psp ones.

      • Just Tim

The GBA Summon Night games are the Swordcraft Story Action RPG spinoffs.

          Thanks for the info.

Nope, don’t think so. There have been partial translations for a couple spin-offs, but I would personally love to play the main titles :'(

Summon Night 1 and 2 got N.A. GBA releases by ATLUS, in 2006.

    • Just Tim

Technically, the GBA releases are actually the Swordcraft Story action RPG spinoffs, not the main timeline strategy games.

Sheeeit, I didn’t even know there was a difference

  • Zoozbuh

Jesus that’s cheap! If I had a JP credit card/PSN card, I would totally buy these despite not understanding Japanese! I just wish their next step would be to try and get overseas interest >__<

  • Do want, but too lazy to bother going through the trouble of downloading. Also super broke right now.

  • ZeromusUra

Summon Night 1&2 also was released on nds if anyone is interested. $3 per game instant buy!

  • puchinri

Oh man, that’s next to nothing. I guess I better pick them up some way or another while I can.
