Kadokawa and Grasshopper have shared two new gameplay videos of Killer is Dead via Famitsu.com, showing off two of the game’s missions. You can watch these below.

The first is “The Tiger That Vanished Into Darkness,” a mission that sees Mondo facing off against an old-fashioned Yakuza who has a tiger tattoo that comes alive:

The second video is of the Gigolo Mission, set in Brazil, where Mondo must seduce a woman named Natalia:

Killer is Dead will be released in Japan on August 1st and sometime this Summer in North America.

I hope this game got huge number of over-the-top bosses like No More Heroes.

    • wyrdwad

      You won’t be disappointed. ;)

  • Sentsuizan_93

I am really looking forward to this game. Hope a NA/EU date is announced soon.

    • Raoni Marques

NA already has an official date: 08/27

August is gonna be a great month for us gamers

the battle gameplay looks nice, btw is this the successor of NMH or are we going to see it return?

  • Darkrise

This looks fantastic 0.0 I just hope it isn’t too short like the rest of Grasshopper’s games.

  • DarthSithZero

    Gigolo Smartglasses

  • KuchikiSentou

Goichi-dono absolutely nailed the sword play on this one. Very beautiful, next-level stuff.

      > “Goichi-dono”
I really don’t know where to start re: what’s wrong with this.

      • KuchikiSentou

An African proverb: “the man who asks questions never loses his way”. Oddly, I don’t detect one.

        • Asura

You should stop doing what you do. Immediately.

          • KuchikiSentou

            What are you talking about?

          • Ssylex

Guessing Asura is referring to this… maybe. I don’t know Japanese, but I do enjoy learning things. :P

“When used in conversation in present day it is often used as a joke expressing an exaggeration of age. This is also commonly used in anime/manga; particularly by foreigners, old people, and people of low standing, especially in shonen anime/manga.”

          • KuchikiSentou

So what’s the problem with that? Is it my fault that the person doesn’t understand it? Even the response was inept and incoherent.

          • Ssylex

Can’t speak for Asura. The wiki article was interesting to me as a non-speaker of Japanese, and I thought it added to the discussion. :)

          • KuchikiSentou

Ok, but what a discussion it must be.

          • Ssylex

*shrug* I probably shouldn’t have intruded. Apologies.

          • KuchikiSentou

Not at all, I’m just mystified by the person’s comments.

        • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

“How do I basic Japanese?” Is a question you have clearly never asked.

          • KuchikiSentou

            Please be [more] coherent.

          • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

What I’m saying is, addressing a Japanese man you don’t know as “[first name]-dono” IRL is a great way to get laughed at/beaten up. Meanwhile, using it unironically in conversation with fellow English speakers in order to sound “more Japanese” effectively makes you look like a mouth-breathing idiot.

          • Asura

            Perfectly stated.

  • HPN

Gameplay looks good, but not a fan of the messy cel shading. More importantly, the combat HUD is ridiculously cluttered. 1:23 in the combat video, for example. The protagonist’s dark suit disappears in these cluttered graphics and the brightest, easiest to see elements are the oversized, over emphasized HUD.

    • JustThisOne

Yeah, some of the cel shading can get really messy. I kinda get lost whenever Mondo does that blue shockwave move. But I think that’ll get better on a big screen.

This game is looking amazing. I’m very excited for its impending release. Hopefully we get it sometime over the summer.

  • Testsubject909

So I feel like making a joke about his left arm and private fun time… But then the foreplay-via-zoom-stares happened. And now I don’t know what to make fun of.

That said… I’ll give this game a go. Grasshopper’s always entertaining.

  • JustThisOne

I kinda wish I didn’t watch that now. xD It was so awesome that I probably would have preferred to see it in-game. Commence information lockdooown.

I gotta say though, it’s kinda weird that staring at a lady’s crotch or boobs can earn you points. :/ Most of the time, that earns you a couple of mean looks.

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

It’s No More Heroes plus Gal*Gun plus a white Barret plus Samurai Champloo Sidetracked plus the motorcycle sequences from Madworld. WHAT I’M I LOOKING AT!?

  • Asura

The combat looks sweet, the zoom stares look incredibly stupid.

  • ChiffonCake

Combat looks amazing! Really has a NMH/Killer 7 feel to it.

  • http://twitter.com/Luimango lulu M

    Lol @”adult hour”

  • Damarius Wingfield

    Mondo: *Walks in*……*SLASHING SOUNDS*….
    Mondo: *Walks out like hmm*!

  • ShadowDivz

Am i the only one who thought shaman king in the first video?
