  • Okay.

Now do something like this in /America/, Sony.

    • Solomon_Kano

Seriously. Got hyped til I saw it was for Europe.

      • Really, the article names come to be teases a lot of times, especially when I generally see them first on the twitter feed, haha.

But seriously, Sony needs to step up something over here. I want more people to own a Vita!

        • TheExile285

You and me both, pal. E3 was definitely not a step in the right direction….

        • Shady Shariest

I…Cannot express the joy it gives to me to see this scenario this way around :)

Usually it’s us getting disappointed for U.S deals :)

Sorry for your loss by all means :)

      • CaibreGreyblade

There are some gamers on this side of the great water too, you know. This is a great deal for many undecided people and vita needs any convert in can get.

        • Solomon_Kano

I’m sure there are, and I’m certainly happy for the people in Europe who’ll get to take advantage of this. All the same, there was a disconnect from when I read the title and when I saw who it was for.

  • …That’s not enough room. And if it is, they likely calculated it to be just barely enough for the games that come with it. So anyone who picks it up will need to get another memory card immediately if they want more games. Smooth, Sony.

Oh well, whatever, looks like this is a UK-only deal so I don’t need to think too hard since it doesn’t apply to me.

  • benhofb

This is cool and all, but I just wish they would lower the price of the memory cards already.

    • Sango

Same, I just bought an 8gb yesterday. I’d Rather spend my money on an actual game for that price than a memory card.

    • Radiosity

Indeed. these things should NEVER have been that expensive. I wonder what sort of obscene profit Sony actually makes on them, given it really can’t cost them anything like that much to produce the things, even at Class 10 or above. Probably won’t see a drop until sales of the Vita improve… which probably won’t happen until Memcards drop. Egg, meet chicken. Chicken, meet egg.

    • ronin4life

That is probably how they intend to make most of their money… those prices won’t be going down anytime soon, and this is just proof of that.

      • Tiredman

Which is why so many people won’t touch a Vita. Nobody likes getting screwed on something as stupid as memory.

  • I would rather get one of 16GB.

    • TheExile285

Yeah this would make more sense with 16gb and 32gb memory cards

  • Xerain

Can all of those games even fit on an 8 gig? On my 4 gig currently I can only fit one good game and one crappy game, or 3 crappy games.

    • MonsieurEek

They’d definitely fit. LBP for example is only about 1GB and WipeOut is 1.6, and those are among the biggest games on that list. Many of those games are quite small. Hungry Giraffe and Floating Octopus Character are Vita renditions of Minis which were all under 100MB.

Currently on my 8GB card are Disgaea 3; Retro City Rampage; Big Sky Infinity; Knytt Underground; escapeVektor; Ecolibrium; ZoozooGo!; OMG-Zombies!; Pinball Arcade; Final Fantasy Origins; No Heroes Allowed!; Patapon 2; Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny; Final Fantasy Tactics: WotL; plus about three albums worth of music.

  • Red Veron

I just got a 16gb card and I wish that I availed of that $50 32gb clearance from AT&T a while ago. Even the leap from 8gb to 16 gb is significant being able to carry more on you.

  • Anonymous

    Oh mah god
Now i want a Vita even more, The Vita Mega Pack(If it includes the games as well) price is soo good

  • Kefkiroth

Should’ve been packed in with 32GB. My 8GB can hardly take ~300 songs and one digital game along with photos, a few anime episodes, etc.

All those games would just strain people more who actually use their Vita for other media because Sony lets us.

  • Fitzkrieg

I have no earthly idea what ‘The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character’ is, but I want it.

  • Haseyo

Annnnddd I still feel it’s still not worth the price tag as a whole. Comon Vita, step it up.

  • Erikdayo

Please release larger memory cards and cut the prices at least in half. I paid $80 for a 32GB, and it isn’t enough space. 64GB would be amazing. Or even 128GB.

    • If that $ is USD, then it’s still better than 70+ GBP (75 on over here in Britain… :p

      • Erikdayo

        Wow. That sounds awful! D:

        Nice user name, btw. :P

        • Well, anything’s still better than Australia, I guess… but I’m not sure what import costs are like for Australians, so I can’t speak on their behalf.

        • Radiosity

Completely off-topic but I agree on the awesome choice of name. I assume it’s a Little Busters reference, in which case わふー!

And to be mildly on-topic, the way people just take the dollar value and change the sign to £ instead for the UK market is really irritating, currency conversion doesn’t work like that, guys. At least in any industry outside of games.

          • ShadowDivz

I noticed that that too. It’s kinda confusing to be honest.

  • Aqua King

Is this a joke? The 8GB memory card is hardly even enough space. :/

    • ShadowDivz

      I have a 4g, just sayin. I think 8g is pretty good.

    • Testsubject909

If you’re big on retail. 4GB is manageable so 8GB would work just fine.

  • ReveurIngenu

It’s actually only 200€ (250€ with an immediate reduction of 50€).

  • JuhRo

Sales happen all the time..Best Buy had a sale on 16 GB memory cards for half the price.. When I saw they were sold out, I had Target price match it. It’s all in how you play the discount game. My Vita actually came with a 32 GB cause I bought it from someone.

    • ShadowDivz

      When was the sale?

  • Kevi Johnson-el

8GB is good for a bundle

  • Sam

Just upgraded my PS3 to 500 gigs for $60. I paid about the same for 32 gigs for my Vita. That’s a big problem.

  • Too bad I’m not interested in one of those games :/

  • Ben Sylvia

Well that sucks, already got LBP Vita, and the only other interesting to me game is Lemmings.

    • Kyle Yadlosky

Lemmings is free on the Playstation Mobile (or minis) store.
