Earth Defense Force 2025 Celebrates The Fourth Of July With Free DLC

By Spencer . June 30, 2013 . 2:42pm

Happy early Fourth of July from D3 Publisher, Earth Defense Force 2025 is getting it’s first round of downloadable content on Thursday and the good news is all of it is free. Too bad Earth Defense Force 2025 won’t be available here until 2014, but here’s what you can get if you’re playing the Japanese verison.

Volatile Napalm is a weapon for the ranger that sets objects ablaze.

Glepinir is a Wing Diver weapon that creates an energy orb that fires homing lasers at enemies. Alone the laser blasts are weaker, but the Glepinir orbs keep shooting bullets at nearby enemies.

Efreet is a weapon for the Fencer which fires a rocket filled with fire bombs.

Bloodstorm is a giant missile that breaks apart into tiny missiles that rain on enemies. Fencers use this weapon too.

    I can’t handle these EDFEDFEDFEDFEDFEDF

Did you just say EDF! EDF! EDF! EDF! EDF! or “ED FED FED FED FED FED F-”?

  • Tre W

Good stuff. I’ll look forward to trying all of this out once I get to play this game in a week!

  • Strid

Would love to keep buying some EDF, but I’m not having anything to do with D3 — shutting down White Knight II servers in the U.S. and all.

what if WKII didnt sell well and they were losing money by keeping up the servers. were they supposed to keep paying for a money hole?

      • Strid

And what of the tens and tons of other games that “didn’t sell well” and still have their servers up?

I’m not going to make a single excuse for them. If it wasn’t in the cards for them to keep this game up, being primarily an online game, then they had no business taking it away from others, more likely to do well by it. How they handled the community and their complete lack of support to actually finish the game, even, doesn’t sit well either. Basically, they tried to be just as lazy with this game as their others, and that’s fine with something shallow like EDF, you can get by with that, but not WKC II, doesn’t work that way and hopefully they never get an opportunity to do something like this again; at the very least, if they do, it wont be a Level-5 game.
