As always, a new Pokémon anime series is set to debut close to the release of a new generation of Pokémon games. The Pokémon Company has announced that Pocket Monsters XY will air in Japan on October 17th.

Ash will return as the series’ protagonist, and will travel to Lumiose City, which is the town you’ll start out at in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y’s Kalos region.

International air dates for the new anime haven’t been announced yet. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, however, will launch worldwide on October 12th, localized into seven languages.
