Next Legend Of Heroes’ First Trailer Reveals A Brand New Character

Falcom have released the first official trailer for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash, an upcoming PlayStation 3 and Vita RPG that takes place in the lands of Erebonia, which was the setting of The Legend of Heroes: Trails In The Sky and Trails of Zero Evolution.

The game’s story surrounds the students of the elite Class VII of Thors Academy. The trailer starts out with a look at the heroes of Class VII of Thors Academy, along with some of their upperclassmen and instructor, Sara Valestin. It is followed by a quick glance at the Tactic Link System and a look at what appears to be Alisa and Emma on horseback, cautiously working their way around an enemy.

We also get a quick look at a giant hammer-wielding young girl who has yet to be revealed, but judging by her appearance, she doesn’t appear to be a member of Class VII.

In our earlier report, it was revealed that Sara will be a playable character, although she’s considered a sub-character according to Falcom. Perhaps The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash will feature several other temporary party members, who aren’t regulars of Class VII.

As seen on the official website, the mysterious new character appears on the cover of the PlayStation 3 version of the game, while she seems to have been omitted in the cover of the PlayStation Vita’s version, meaning she could be a console exclusive. Japanese magazine leaks report that more info regarding the character will be revealed as early as this week.

The Legend of heroes: Trails in the Flash is slated for release in Japan on September 26 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

  • Shinji Kazuya

The new character is not omitted in the Playstation Vita’s version. She’s right there.

Laura S. Arseid is the one not in the cover of the Playstation Vita’s version.

  • Sentsuizan_93

This game looks pretty stunning. Have a bad feeling it’s not coming outside Japan though… :(

    • Mozendo

      There’s still a chance D:
      Don’t give up hope!

  • Aristides

T-T why Xseed… why. I believe it is time for me to sacrifice another chicken for SC localization and move up the line so that one day we can finally get to play this game. It looks awesome.

  • Jah-keem York

She has been revealed, her name’s Miriam Orion she’s randomly encountered all across Erebonia. She’s sometimes a friend, and sometimes a foe and goes by the name “White Rabbit”. She’s suppose to be a carefree type characer. The machine she uses is named Airgetlam.

So Blanc finally crew up :P

  • CirnoLakes

Erm… I mean.. she… hammer wielding! So great!

  • Prinnydoom

Got a strong Type-0 vibe from this trailer. Looking good though.

    • Chiupon

I don’t know why people downvoted it. There’s even a scene in the trailer where the students are assembled in a position, brandishing their weapons, while someone holds a flag…. Hmn, where have I seen that before? Regardless, we’re probably gonna get this game, so it’s not like people will even have the knowledge of type-0 to make a comparison.

      • Prinnydoom

yeah i was mythed by the down vote too. The hell. Its promising if this gets localised.

  • IshimaruKaito

hmmmm should i import this for the ps3 or vita…hmmmm?? decisions decisions

  • epy

I don’t consider myself a masochist, but I always click on LoH news…

    • CirnoLakes

Hey, you could always take some Japanese classes.

      • epy

I have a firm grasp on the language and my conversation and listening skills are quite high but I’m below average in my reading abilities. Falcom games (sans Ys), especially their LoH games, tend to have TONS of text and they’re merciless with their use of difficult kanji, which is why I can import something like Tales no problem but I wouldn’t even think to import one of these.

        • Maxwell3000

I agree. I so far am fairly familiar with roughly 900 Kanji and have the LoH SC for when I reach 2000 to give it a try. In the opening chapter I can say I knew maybe 70% of the Kanji used. Of course fans like us want to know every nuance so this isn’t good enough yet.

But hey, I find it better than waiting a long time. Falcom is moving quick.

  • AnimeRemix

Never played any of the games in this series (that’s if there are any other games), but this looks pretty interesting. Anyone has an idea of the chances of this game getting a localization here in the West?

  • fyi1191

    Saw Oliver at the end.
Now I want him in my party and watch him do his chores.

  • WyattEpp

Damn, at some point they got REALLY good at making 3D models not-quite-indistinguishable from 2D animation. At times, there are only a few pixels to hint that it’s a raster of a model. Very impressive.

  • Kevin Schwarz

Big mistake if this game won’t be localised. From all the hype Sora no kiseki had on the psp. People overseas are ready for this!

  • joemari5

She wasn’t omitted. She’s there at the right side of the Vita boxart. -_-
