EVO 2013 Stream Schedule:

  • malek86

Which Mortal Kombat is that, the last one?

Also, why Melee and not Brawl? That should be very old by now.

    • Go2hell66

because brawl is a horrible game to play competitively, its not very popular within the smash community

    • pantsonadog

      Yeah it was MK9.

    • Canceris

There was a donation drive contest for the 8th game for EVO, Melee won with 90k dollars donated, barely above SG. I believe Brawl got like 15k, dont quote on me that.

Smash community really love this game, and Brawl wasnt at their expectations.

      • TrevHead

I just find it a bit naff that Melee would have so much time allocated to it compared the Skullgirls.

        Is SG lacking in participants?

        • Canceris

The donation drive was for only 1 game, the winner. Because donation for SG were high too, they later accorded for a side tourney and Top 8 to be streamed on main channel.
What isnt streamed on the main channels for sure is being side streamed.

    • metaxzero

Brawl is a VERY divisive game in the Smash community. Even though Melee is like 12 years old now, there is quite a few people who were so disappointed in Brawl that they’d rather just continue playing Melee. Hence why Melee won the donation drive and Brawl didn’t.

  • Go2hell66

SFIV top 8 is gonnna be crazy

  • pantsonadog

Sunday is going to be great.

  • ChiffonCake

Oh man, looks like I’m going to miss the KOFXIII finals. Damn.

Looking forward to Skullgirls and Divekick, though.

    • ChiffonCake

…or not? Looks like 10 AM for them ended up being way later for me (KOF is starting now, and it’s 2 PM here).

      Oh well. Yay!

  • Dammit I missed P4A -_-

    • Kevadu

Yume schooled everyone so bad it’s not even funny. There were some incredibly close matches everywhere else, but first place was no contest…

      • Shane Guidaboni

No one stood a chance against Yume. Doesn’t matter who would go up against him in the end. He was on another level.

      • Ni

Like @shaneguidaboni:disqus have said, Yume was a beast the second match in the final vs LK was amazing

  • TrevHead

What regional time zone is EVO going off? It obviously isn’t GMT as it’s nearly 1pm in the UK and Skullgirls has yet to show

  • Canceris

Btw people reading, if you want to watch the rest of the matches going on:

    • EtroAnime

A lot of ignorant and racist comments on some of those twitch streams. smh I will just here at Siliconera and watch EVO.

      • Canceris

Or you can hide the chat, pop out the stream, or full screen it. Choose your favorite.

      • Go2hell66

welcome to the fighting game community

  • Vesperion

Siliconra is like a day late reporting this. Missed all the HYPE SF4 matches last night!

    • Shane Guidaboni

To be fair, you shouldn’t count on Siliconera to report this. SRK is the place to be for EVO news.

      • Vesperion

Oh i didn’t mean myself. I guess i worded that wrong

  • It took me a while before I notice this guy in the kof stream.

    • Testsubject909

Told you guys (in the OT). Second row of the audience.

The sight of his head just caught me off guard.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    Killer Instinct was booed

    • EtroAnime

Not fully true they were really booing the Xbox One.

  • NightzeroAX

    PR Balrog FOR MURICA!

  • I thought my local anime conventions merited a smile when i saw it in the “Gaming room” tournaments going on… but even here, i still find it funny to see smash bros melee there in a fighting game competition. Then again it is what the fans make it, which is probably why 1. Brawl ain’t on here, and 2. Melee is in a ‘fighting’ game tournament when it’s quite unlike any other ‘fighting game’ O_o

    Unless that’s the point but…

Still baffles me to this day.

  • Kitestwinblades

    EVO 2013 was AMAZING! (~°∀°)~

  • NightzeroAX

Grats to singapore. It was nice to see Jwong come back strong and the same goes for PR Rog. I still like EVO 2011 better.
