75-off-square-titles

Fans of Square Enix titles with limited disposable income will be happy to know that a big batch of the company’s popular games (37 of them) are on sale this weekend at Green Man Gaming.

We’re not too sure if it’s a good thing when AAA titles from your catalog are on sale at 75% off only 4 months after their release date (Tomb Raider), but deep discounts on digital titles are the name of the game these days. (Keeping them priced high and out of reach is probably not doing much of a service to the IP either.)

The sale at Green Man Gaming requires no coupon and will run through July 29, Monday at 11am ET. The discount is region-independent (75% off for USD, EUR, and GBP), and all of the titles activate on Steam.

Some of our top picks are below, though most other games in each of the franchises below are also all on sale (e.g. there are a few more Tomb Raider and Dungeon Siege games not listed).

Game Title MSRP % Off Sale Price
Sleeping Dogs Bundle + 4 Credit or $3 Cash Back $64.92 75% $16.23
Tomb Raider + $2.50 Credit or $1.50 Cash Back $49.99 75% $12.49
Deus Ex Series (Human Revolution, Invisible War)
N/A 75% $4.99
Hitman: Absolution Professional Edition $29.99 75% $7.49
Just Cause Pack (Just Cause 1 + 2) $21.98 75% $5.49
Legacy of Kain Series (Defiance, Soul Reaver 1 & 2) $6.99 75% $1.74
Kane and Lynch Pack (Dead Men, Dog Days) $16.98 75% $4.24
Dungeon Siege 3 $14.99 75% $3.74
Tomb Raider Underworld $8.99 75% $2.24
Tomb Raider Legend $6.99 75% $1.74
Thief Series (Deadly Shadows, Gold, Thief 2: Metal Age) $8.99 75% $2.24

Just so our console-only friends aren’t feeling completely left out, we’ve found a small batch of decent PS3 and 3DS deals for this weekend too. They’re not Square Enix titles, but they’re all at the lowest prices we’ve spotted thus far (except for Revengeance, which has been slightly cheaper in the past).

Expires Game Title MSRP % Off Sale Price
Jul 31 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (PS3) Q4 2013 $59.99 17% $49.99
Jul 29 Mario Party (Nintendo 3DS) 11/01/13 $39.99 10% $35.99
Jul 29 Project X Zone (Nintendo 3DS) $39.99 13% $34.99
N/A Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PS3, Used) $39.99 38% $24.99

Persona 3 FES is 50% off on the US PSN for $4.99 too. Pretty worth it for the 100+ hours that you can sink into the game.

    • Surgeon of Death

I just bought Golden for $20 to replace my physical copy(damn save glitch), and I am about to get 1 & 2. I might pick up FES.

I’ve heard the PSP version is better, even with the visual downgrade.

        • Surgeon of Death

I have it already. Got it on original PSP release and digital in Atlas sale 2012. It is far superior and makes up with downgrade with visual novel style. But it still lacks “The Answer”. I hope th make a vita version of 3 with all the content included and a couple of extras. THAT would be awesome. P4 is Golden but P3 is PURE VELVET.

having played both I’d disagree, the answer is very important and the lack of visuals made it hard to convey some of the more important stuff. I didn’t feel like I was living in the world of P3 but more like observing it and as such didn’t make such a strong emotional connection to the female lead and the characters inside.

Odin Sphere is $4.99 too, until monday.

Deus Ex looks really tempting, I was going to wait Director’s Cut, but how to wait with that price?
