Monster Hunter Frontier G Roars Onto PS3 And Wii U With Its First Trailer

By Ishaan . August 1, 2013 . 4:00pm

As reported earlier in the week, Monster Hunter Frontier G is coming to the PlayStation 3 and Wii U in Japan, and Capcom have released a new promotional trailer for the game, which you can watch below:

On PS4, Monster Hunter Frontier G will be updated to include trophies. Meanwhile, the Wii U version will allow you to the play using the Wii U GamePad as well as the Wii U Pro Controller. Capcom are also thinking of possible uses for the Nintendo 3DS in conjunction with the Wii version U but haven’t announced anything in this regard yet.

Monster Hunter Frontier G will cost 6,090 yen at retail, but if Wii U and PS3 owners download the game, they’ll be able to grab it for free. From there on out, a monthly fee of 1,400 yen will be required to play the game, just like on PC and Xbox 360.

    Western Release?

    • zaidandzhadow

Yeah of course like with all MH games it’s gonna have a worldwide release

      • Joshua Myers

    • Haseyo

2021, when the game no longer has updates and is outdated by MH Frontier Even More G’s

      • Altin

*Not calling the 10th installment of MonHun Frontier: “Monster Hunter F to the G Bling Bling Edition”.*

    • I swear it feels like Japan is laughing at us somewhere.

  • ZEROthefirst

Looks like the 360 is going to be losing even more attention in Japan with this. If I had to guess Capcom’s doing this in Japan with the PS3/WiiU to gain MORE traffic in the game.

  • pimpalicious

Have the Monster Hunter games always been paid sub games in Japan?

Typo in the second paragraph, it has PS4. Or is it coming to it also?

    • ZEROthefirst

MH3 was pay to play online in Japan, but if I recall I don’t think 3G needs a fee to play online in Japan (could be wrong though, I haven’t looked it up).

  • im hoping it being on the Wii U it will make nintendo push for a western release. it will definitely help them move consoles its a win win for me! err i mean everyone

    • RazeXI

actually one thing I really wanna see done on the Wii U is more MMO-esque titles, I would LOVE to play PSO 2 on Wii U, even though I know it’ll never happen

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

I hope the Wii-u version has Luigi in it….you know its the year of weegee

    • RazeXI

why is this not more widely known?

  • ronin4life

    “PS4”? I think you meant ps3.
I don’t get Charging for physical and then charging extra for subs with no other benefits when the digital version is free… sounds evil.

  • RichyGaming

Since nobody said it yet, i’m gonna do it, dood. 1:02 IMMA FIRING-

  • Andrew A

Wait…so if you buy the game you don’t have to pay the subscription? Am I getting this right?

    • Judgephoenix

I think you still have to pay sub fee, the game is just free.

    • J_Joestar

I believe that the “purchased” version just has some bonuses (sort of like a starter-kit) and probably covers the subscription for a couple of months.

  • Ruins72

sooo unknown Rathalos too? geez japan gets all the good stuff

  • My PS3 wants a localization! >_<

  • Sango

    I don’t want this damn game anyway…

  • Punny Fuzz

1:39 – Good god, are those baby seals? D:

  • Might get a WiiU just for this bad boy!

    • mike dickson

i would recommend the ps3 version if your planing to import this

  • RazeXI

*sigh*…and yet even though I know it will never come here, I cry a little inside…and by a little I actually mean alot.

  • Vash bane

    even more new beasties?

red and blue look like Rajang variants

  • TWE

    Sweet trailer.
Seeing as they are going completely MMO with Frontier, I’m guessing this will be the “pay to win” of the Monster Hunters.

  • mike dickson

did i just got flipped off by capcom ? ill show them importing this

  • artemisthemp

This is good news, since it means Monster Hunter will be available to ppl, who don’t own a Nintendo System, but Capcom forgot to put Western Release date :P
