Tales of Xillia Release Day Deal is 15% Off at GameStop

By Viet Do . August 6, 2013 . 1:00pm

Released today on August 6th, gamers looking for the North America localized Tales of Xillia will be happy to know that there’s a 15% GameStop Coupon which works on the title, making it only $50.99. Not too bad for day-one pricing (although technically its been a long two years since the Japan release date).

The 15% off GameStop coupon AUG15 had a caveat of working only on in-stock title, but being that the game is now officially released, the coupon automatically went into valid mode earlier today. Coupon expires on August 13 and works online only. YMMV: Free shipping coupon SAVER may waive you the $3.50 shipping and handling fee.

On a side note, while you might still see the collector’s edition showing up at GameStop’s store catalog in search and you’ll be able to add it to cart and apply the 15% coupon (making it only $84.99) – the order will error out as you try to complete the purchase. Trust me, I’ve tried. Collector’s edition is currently going for around $150 on eBay. Ah well?

The sequel, Tales of Xillia 2 has already been released in Japan back in November 1st, with North America and European localized released expected in 2014.

damn. lol. oh well. already bought the game. was pre-ordered and paid off like 6 months ago!

    • Hey you’ll be getting it faster than the rest of us.

      • Courtney Levi Osborn

Yeah it is sitting at home right now. I left work promptly when GameStop opened and picked it up and took it home. Now I am back at work for a while. CANT WAIT TO PLAY IT

        • its so different than the other titles, yet still really good! i love it!

          • 65daysofstatic

I’ve read too that Xillia is different from other iterations in the franchise. I’m anxious to see how these changes have affected the core gameplay.

  • zferolie

Aw. this would have been helpful for my Collectors edition I am picking up. but it’s online only :(

    • Well the collector’s edition doesn’t seem to work. I actually tried to buy it (thinking I’ll just sell it to my friend who’s been eyeing the game) but it kept giving an order error. Sold out everywhere else I check online and already going for more than original price on eBay.

  • Raltrios

Already picked up my Collector’s Edition. Took too many pics of it for my friends…

The artbook actually looks damn good, but the CD is the usual 12-track bullcrap :/

  • Brimfyre

    Hot diggity!
I canceled this for Dragon’s Crown, but I have $25 in credit from Gamestop burning a hole in my pocket.

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Oh well…

The nearest Gamestop/EB is a few towns over anyway.

  • Xillia

did you guys check the dlc for the game in the store ? very few stuff …. what happened to us getting the same dlc as japan !

    • Pyrotek85

I had read somewhere that we’ll get it soonish, I wouldn’t worry yet as it’s only launch day.

      • Xillia

ok, I thought everything will be up when the game is first released ^^

    • Ryumoau

i hate how overpriced the dlc costumes are. $3 a pop seems ridiculous. hopefully some day they may go on sale, don’t think i’ll get any till then.

      • Xillia

I know ! if I would buy most of the stuff it would be like 30$ ><

        • fireguardiancoty

Excuse you, but Malik had the best swimsuit.

My copy was shipped today, hopefully I’ll get it before the weekend. Pre-ordered mine long time ago at EB Canada, couldn’t possibly miss this CE.
Xillia 2 better get same epic CE edition next year and Symphonia too.

    • Pyrotek85

That’s a good idea, a Symphonia CE. Maybe with a Colette statue?

  • Will John

What the fuck I just picked mine up wow

    • CobbleCake

It happens, like for the past few days Ni no Kuni on Amazon kept bouncing between $20 and $30 ($40 third party) every other day because they price matched different stores one after the other.

  • nirvana123

Wait so how do I get the coupon im confused ? :(

  • Herok♞

Glad I got the thing off the Bamco store last week

  • Ryumoau

i’m really disappointed that Namco didn’t give NA the option of preordering the game on the psn store.

My ps3 stopped reading disks a couple weeks ago so i’m stuck with the digital version. It sucks paying $55 for the game and not getting any of the extra content retail versions had. :(

  • Grape Monet

Pre-ordered the CE from Amazon as soon as I could, it shipped today. I’ll have to wait a while, but I’ve got Dynasty Warriors 8 and Earthbound to tide me over!

  • Crimson_Cloud

Aah, game.co.uk already sent me the game, although it won’t be at my place for another week at least. Can’t wait. ^^

  • Dagobert

I bought two copies of the collectors edition. I’m hoping they sell for more than 130$ on ebay. That way I can sell one so it’ll pay off a bit of the other copy.

  • Wiccan1109

Over here in the UK, Argos were selling it advertised around £30 instead of the usual £40, and on the 6th, 3 days earlier than the EU release date (The 9th.) I preordered the minute i saw it but then on the 6th they changed the date back up to the 9th lol… The wait is killing me and then theres pictures of Americans on Tumblr buying like 4 copies and waving the boxes around with big old grins. :P

Since I mostly fell out of love with every other JRPG series thats still going strong, Tales is the biggest gaming event i have these days. Dead excited!

  • Yan Zhao

Pre-ordered the collectors edition anyway. Love the sexy Millia figure. Its bigger than I expected.
