CyberConnect2 has about an hour of footage from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. The video is a tournament with JoJo characters duking it out in the PS3 game.

While JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle isn’t built for hardcore fighting fans, Hiroshi Matsuyama said this game plays more like a traditional fighting game and is about reading your opponent’s moves.

    Emerald Splash!
Man, I hope they reveal that last character soon.

Fighting looked a bit slow… but maybe it’s an early version, or they’re not trying to be as fast as the Naruto-games? Looked a bit unusual to see a fighting game with such a slow, meticulous pace.

    • leingod

actually, it looks like it plays closer to traditional fighting games instead of the Naruto 3D thingy.

      • Göran Isacson

Mm, I have heard that it’s less about whizzing around real fast and throwing lots of special attacks as in Naruto, but it still looked a bit slow… could just be that it’s the AI being really slow, as SirFeatherFang said.

        • MrSirFeatherFang

It’s suppose to be similar to Capcom’s JoJo released way back. It’s kind of like a 2D fighter but there’s an actual 3D plane to be utilized. As in moving around fast, CC2 said they wanted to make a JoJo game. In the JJBA series, it’s all about reading your opponent and trying to outwit them. I wouldn’t expect ultra fast gameplay since this is JoJo, but who knows.

It’s the A.I. fighting each other… I don’t know why they decided to do this, but I guess we’ll have to wait until release to see some real footage uploaded.
edit: btw the game is being released at the end of the month. This is definitely close to if not the finished game.

      • leingod

maybe they used “accurate” fighting stats for each character, and wanted to know who’d actually win… or something like that

        • MrSirFeatherFang

yeah I was thinking about that too. Instead of using real people, it would seem more “fair” if it was just the A.I. I’ve been following this game for a long time and the A.I. is definitely not set on Hard or anything. It’s been like this since the beginning of the Battle League.

      • Göran Isacson

Aaah, that explains things. I skipped onto the gameplay part, so I missed anything they said. Guess we’ll have to wait until users upload their own battles then.

      • Bobby Jennings

Usually developers do this to “hide” the game. Basically if two good players played, you’d see everything the game would have to offer.

    • Hunts Rattata

Here’s footage of some idols playing (read: button mashing). Does it look a bit faster than the AI’s play?

      • Göran Isacson

Ha ha, yeah that had a bit more speed to it. I guess that some of the stiffness really did come from the “players” here being incredibly slow and meticulous A.I.

“Looked a bit unusual to see a fighting game with such a slow, meticulous pace.”

You mean like Super Slow Fighter 4?

  • Mental

    Josuke vs Josuke, huh?
This is going to be interesting.

What do we have to do to get this game over to north America and Europa

  • bushin

From watching the footage it definitely seems like its a spacing/footsies game with heavy zoning. However this is only A.I. so it will be interesting once players actually get there hands on it. And we can see some real combos. With it being A.I. they wont be pulling off the huge combos or anything so its no surprise it looks so slow.

  • Prinnydoom

Dio got pounded…………….a lot >__< poor dude can't catch a break

For people who just want to see PV 6:

  • TheMightyKamina

So Joseph isn’t in this tournament i’m sad

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Never mind… I was thinking of something else… sorry

    • Mental

The sad thing is he almost won the poll for Group G, but somehow Kakyoin pulled it over.
I’d pay $20 to watch Part 2 Joseph fight Part 1 Dio.
