DPDC_iBook_Screenshots_03.480x480-75Rising Star will release a visual companion for Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut. This ebook has a behind the scenes look at the game with Swery 65’s developer notebook that shows storyboards and how the game was created. Three interactive maps show where everything is in Greenvale and you can also see sketches that haven’t been released before. Rising Star also included the game’s soundtrack plus a crime scene creator widget.

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut: The Official Visual Companion will be released on iTunes on October 15. The game is out now for PS3 and scheduled for PC via Steam later this year.

I don’t know whose responsibility this falls upon, but either the publisher or the developers should release a patch to improve the framerate of the PS3 version. It’s kind of choppy (but playable still)…

Not sure if this will help you… but I wouldn’t expect one anytime soon…

      • Tigerfog

        Aaaw. That’s too bad. I can’t help but be a bit disappointed…
The framerate doesn’t render the game unplayable, but it’s slightly grating. Oh well…

Actually, I’m really interested in buying the game, and I haven’t yet because of those problems. Furthermore, the spanish version has characters “Á” instead of “¿”, so it will be a little weird.

I’m planning on buying it anyway, but it would be really nice if they improved it with a patch.

I feel a bit silly for buying the PS3 version, as I’d have waited for the PC version if I knew it was coming – especially in light of the framerate issues.

    I need!
I just finished watching two best friends play this game and I need!

I’m watching SGF’s playthrough of Deadly Premonition for the Xbox. It’s real neat.

Planning on getting this for the PC- hopefully that version will be the ultimate one! Although I wonder what the mod-community might do if they get their hands on it… and now I’m imagining a nude-mod for York. And the weird thing is I feel like he’s the kind of guy who WOULD go around solving mysteries naked if he wanted to and justify it along the lines of:
“Don’t be so prude Zack, these people need to be educated about the beauty of the human form and repressive attitudes has been proven by studies to be directly linked to a low sense of self-worth. I am simply giving them the opportunity to be better people, one glance at little Francis at a time… now where’s my coffe?”

      This is great.
